They Plump When You Cook ‘Em (Oh, Yeah)

plums

This has the makings of a long weekend. But that’s cause I’m never much on confidence when it comes to my sports teams. I still remember those horrible late-season series vs the Jays in the mid-’80s. Screw those guys and screw these Jays, too. Upstarts. Fuckos. Douche Knots. They are a perfectly agreeable team to dislike–even though I like a bunch of their players (Martin, Donaldson, Price, Tulo). Their manager looking like a tin-cup-spitting-bar-stool-sitting hard ass pal of Brian Dennehey’s. Goddamn crotchy fucking goat.

The  Yanks had done reasonably well against Price and that’s a concern. Figure he’s due for a good one against them. Only hope Nova is up to the task.

Ah, never mind my gloom–it’s a gorgeous day here in New York:

Dogs walked, groceries gotten, lawn mowed. Now to sit back and relax.

Nova is a tough guy but 45 pitches in 2 innings. Warren in the wings.

I said this the last time he started but I'm liking this Higher K version of Nova. Did TJ surgery cause this or am I being silly?

Nova at 69 pitches in 4..a bit better. Hope they get to Price 2nd time around.

Are the Yankees going to...... Oh, there's a hit. Yay, Alex.

7 thelarmis   ~  Aug 8, 2015 1:31 pm

I'm trying to convince myself that tomorrow is a win and today is a bonus.

13 thelarmis   ~  Aug 8, 2015 1:47 pm

Shit. One batter too long

Joe is really guessing wrong. Thought he would bring in Shreve.

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffin' glue.

20 thelarmis   ~  Aug 8, 2015 2:13 pm

GI Joe will have lost both games of this series.

21 rbj   ~  Aug 8, 2015 2:20 pm

This isn't helping me relax

22 rbj   ~  Aug 8, 2015 2:46 pm

Can't win a game if you don't score any runs.

23 rbj   ~  Aug 8, 2015 3:06 pm

Well that was a waste of an afternoon.

Feels like we're entering the twilight zone. I still think we should have pursued Cole Hamels. Lefty's thrive in the Bronx.

25 Boatzilla   ~  Aug 8, 2015 8:27 pm

It's all down to Tank to keep us from tanking this series.

I have a question. Why hasn't Gardner been playing every inning of every game?

26 thelarmis   ~  Aug 9, 2015 1:44 am

[24] perhaps.

[25] i know, right?!

GI Joe really fucked us these last two games. Miller should've stayed in another inning, Nova shouldn't have faced Smoak...
