[1] My wife got me hockey skates 2 Christmases ago. My favorite present in 30 years! No kidding.

[5] Cool. My 16-year old daughter who used to be my skating buddy, just informed me that she "hates skating". Bummer. She was getting pretty good, too. Maybe she's in that teenage "I hate everything" phase.

[4] Ouch. Last time I went I thought the food was crap, but I didn't know there was crap in it.

(6) Bummer. I have a 3 1/2 year old who made her first laps last winter. Back breaking! We have an ice skating bday party in a few weeks i am looking forward to. Cheers.

Good luck RBJ! Been there myself more than once.

The Leavy bio is excellent. It's really about how he was the first celebrity athlete. She also punctures holes in lots of the fake stories about him. On the whole, he comes off being a better guy than most assume. Sure, he was a womanizer and a drunk (often), but the understanding of his rejection as a kid by his parents, and his dread of being alone, humanize him. Also nice to see that he actually had a good relationship with Lou (at least as far as I've gotten in the book!)

The left shoulder I had when I was 18.

Thanks all. Big audition is tomorrow.

Yankees did give CC his bonus. Good to see, shows organizational classyness.

Of course, a cynic might say that it’s awfully convenient for this to leak when the Yankees are pursuing one (or two!) very high priced free agents.
