Uncle Woodrow and I were just watching Lena Horne in "Stormy Weather" last night! >;)

Alex, have I got one for you! check out the cat in the striped red-white shirt... do you know who that is? (without looking it up or reading...)

The Lena Horne bit comes from ToykoJazzfan. No, who is that?

Alex, you didn't recognize Luther Vandross?

Wow Alex, -0.5 cool point... >;)

Good call. Missed it.

I'm so uncool. I hang my head in shame.

LOL

[5] Cool points reimbursed immediately for not recognizing Luther!

The "loverman" act often obscured his very substantial musical talent but the records themselves don't hold up very well..guess I just like my R&B to have both R AND B please..

[6] Jazz, that last sentence belongs on the NEXT post, buddy!

[7] Never! I'll watch the SuperBowl but no best QB arguments for me..(it's Joe Montana anyways)..

besides, you're not a secret Luther fan, are you Chyll?? Besides hip-hop I can see you on the Wayman Tisdale side of things.. :)

Of course, we all know Luther did backing vocals on David Bowie's "Young Americans album".

I see your Luther, and raise you a Stevie

[8] I'm not sorry to say that it's no secret, I'm a big fan. Not a "OHMIGODLUTHOR!!" fan, but I know quite a few of his songs and sing them when I feel blue, or when a honey interests me (No shame in my game!)

[9] No shame indeed..as long as when the honeys come over you don't bring out the Kenny Gorelick then we can still talk music :)

so this football nonsense is over..how many days now till P&C??

[8] Why am I more amazed at Wayman Tisdale's musical prowess than by Bernie's? Aren't there musicians or at least music professors in Wayman's family tree?

ugh, you had to mention Mr. Gorelick, huh? I'm not a hipster, okay? >;)

[11] I think Tisdale was playing bass in his church since he was in junior-high school..

Kenny Gorelick splicing in Louis Armstong on his "Christmas Album" (isn't he Jewish???) remains one of the nightmare listening experiences of my life..made even worse when my sister said "Oh I like that, it's so christmas-y.."

I just downloaded a bunch of Stevie Wonder stuff from the early-mid '70s ....
