Fightin Woids

This, from the always pugnacious Allen Barra:

We’ve mentioned Warner a couple times in this space during the postseason, but the lack of ink he got today after his amazing performance Sunday demands one more statement, and we’ll make it: Kurt Warner is the greatest quarterback in the game and, at his best, better than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Brett Favre. His postseason stats alone leave the others in the dust with an 8-3 record, not so gaudy as Brady’s 14-3, but Warner has thrown for as many TDs, 26, in 11 games as Brady has in 17, and Warner has averaged 8.4 yards per throw to Brady’s 6.6.

You can't argue with the stats, but Kurt Warner's got the personality of chicken broth compared to the others. In a sport that is also considered entertainment, that can't be left unsaid.

Barring any more Motorcycle joyride accidents, I am pretty happy to know I'll be watching #7 for another 10 years or so. He is just a mountain of a QB. I am still amped up from last night. : ) But yeah, Mr. Warner had himself a fine game as well. If he had more than 30 seconds at the end there..........(shiveriing) Now to Baseball season. See ya, January.

Dunno if he's the best. You gotta take into account the regular season as well. But I wouldn't bet against him in the Super Bowl.

And yeah, he is a HoFer.

You have to go by the way someone wins...Right Now I would stay if he is healthy I want Brady, After that it is Roethlisberger. Then I make take Warner over the Mannings

[4] I have to say it though, wouldn't mind being either one of the Mannings right now, dunking and licking oreos with the Williams sisters >;)

rbj, you wouldn't bet against him in the Superbowl?? At even odds? I sure would.

That pick he threw to end the first half was just horrible. I mean, I agree he had an excellent game overall, but it was definitely flawed. And as good as he was, I do think you have to give his receivers (esp. Larry F.) a good part of the credit.

I'm with Nutball on the ordering, too. I might take Warner over both Mannings, but definitely behind Tom and Ben.

No comment on Chyll Will's preferences!

[6] I didn't say I prefer, I said I wouldn't mind! >;)

Peyton Manning is the best QB in the game...he may be the best ever.

[7] Hm, subtle distinction. I'll have to think about that (vividly).

[8] Not in the postseason.

[9] Small sample size...I really can't recall watching too many Indy playoff losses thinking, wow, if only the Colts had a different QB, they'd have won this game.
