Bring the Noise

jobaatfenway

It’s that time again as this weekend gives the first meeting of the young season between the Yanks and Sox. Saturday afternoon on Fox, Sunday Night on ESPN.  There will be lots of noise on-line, in the papers, and on TV. The usual hype n hyperbole.*

You know the drill.  Right, Chuck?

* Though Beckett vs. Burnett has the potential to worth the hype.

I can see it now .... that pesky Pedroia slides in hard to Jeter to break up a double play, and they get into a donnybrook.

THAT I'd pay to see ...

For me, it'd be Black Planet.

When I was in college, we would end our late night evenings at a local watering hole. There was a jukebox that people put money in to play their requests. But if no one paid, it would default to three songs which it would play over and over. The three songs? "911 is a joke", "Burn, Hollywood, Burn" and Jackson Five's "ABC123"

[4] I'll second that.

I don't know, I know its only April and all but I'm pretty geeked for this weekend. I think we're starting to get back to the '03-'04 levels of hostility with this rivalry. Between Joba pitching inside, Teixeira's situation over the winter, Girardi's aggressive style, etc etc. I think we're in store for some fire works. Then add on Papelbon, Beckett, Youkilis, Pedroia, and Ortiz on the other side...

Maybe not a brawl per se, but two teams with a healthy disdain for one another. We got away from that a little bit between '05 and '08.

@ 4

Don't get me wrong - I love Black Planet. But that's when they had just started to breakthrough and it seems like they were becoming a bit less original - just a bit - and more commercial. That's my take any ways. Interested in others...
