Edwar is back.

I had hoped I'd never have to say that again.

As for Posada, he just strikes me as someone that is going to leave the catchers position kick and screaming.

[1] The team does need garbage time arms. I doubt Edwar will pitch in any high-leverage situations.

Melancon, on the other hand - I hope we see him frequently in high-leverage situations. I'm also really curious to see what Dunn has to offer, too.

[2] I just really don't enjoy watching him pitch. At all. In any situation. If there's anything worse that watching a pitcher than walks as many people as Edwar does (and on that note, Jesus Christ Mike Dunn), its one that gives up as many homers as Edwar does.

I fully realize that he's probably going to cause minimal damage to the team this month, but as a fan I'd rather run my head into a a salad fork than watch him pitch.

[3] I understand. I think I'd rather see Edwar's change-up than Bruney's heat, though.

Dunn, I understand, has had much better control the last couple of months than the first couple.

I have no idea what Matt Cerrone is talking about. "They're struggling to make [Posada] their catcher this year."

Really?

The Yankees did not sign Po to 4 years to DH him 2 of them. If Cervix provides decent O next year, they might cut Po back to 100-110 games. If Montero is up and real in 2011, Po might catch 60-80 games. Is he going to catch 130+ games in the next 2 years? No. But barring injury, he will still primarily be a Catcher.

And based on how he's throwing this year (CS% is 28%, compared to a career of 29%), that ain't a bad thing.

[5] And that ... is why there's only one Ted Berg.
