    If only Cashman had been permitted to sign Vlad rather George preempting that attempt by signing Sheffield on his own.

    If you look up the words “persecution complex” in the dictionary, you will see Sheffield’s picture.

    I think Sheff is probably a HOFer…that is gonna be one epic speech. My guess is that he would go in as a Marlin, if you had to identify him with one franchise that would probably be it.

    whatever i drop must be rough, rugged, and hard more

    i know sheff is an extraordinarily difficult nutjob, but i basically like him and want him to do well.

    mop is a great group for him.

    he should get in the hof – i don’t even know what to associate him with – but yeah probably marlins (6 years – 2 of his 3 best years were with fla)

    [6] Not that Sheff was a slouch in the ’04 ALCS (.333 .444 .533), and Vlad didn’t hit in the ALDS against Boston that year, but yeah, I’ve thought about that an awful, awful lot.

    Not to mention what the ’05-’08 Yanks would have looked like with Vlad out there, instead of Sheff/pick-’em/Abreu. My long-standing admiration of Vladi may be clouding my judgment just a little bit.
