[2] Odd isn't the word for it. It makes you sort of appreciate that the Yanks were not nearly so self-destructive when dealing with Torre, but then their methods and perhaps their intentions were somewhat similar.

Yeah, that Peyton Manning guy, he's pretty good. Nice win by the Colts. And whadda whuppin in New Orleans. Got to love that the road to the Stupid Bowl in the NFC has to roll through the Big Easy. That's fun. Man, it was loud in that dome today.

[3] Yes, there are always management/ownership problems, + the added cultural differences in this case..Bobby V was a notorious egomaniac here but it's hard not to think he got a raw deal..Fans are still super P.O.ed about it apparently..i look forward to Whitings's next segment.

[4] Did Kurt Warner lose Jesus' cell #? (random aside..some Japanese Jehovah's came by my office the other day..WTF??! They found me all the way over here? Creepy to see a Japanese man and woman with the same suits and a-little-too-smiley-smiles on their faces as the Jehovahs from the US...)

[5] Dude, that can't be your first time. We get them about 3 times a month. And most of them know English now. In fact, one came a callin' yesterday and when I said, "Sorry, I'm not interested," Sachi wanted to know what it was all about. It was not as easy to 'splain as I though it would be.

[6] Seriously man, and at the office of all places! But I generally don't answer the doorbell at home..it could be the NHK man...

Home watching the Sumo on a sleepy sunday afternoon, catch you at the 月末ビール祭り?

[7] Yes at the office is unusual. I can't say that's every happened to me. Thank god we have an intercom at this place. I was running out of stories for the NHK man. Now I just say, "Keko desu." and hang up.
