"This ain't football. We do this every day." --Earl Weaver
Insane "slide" to score the run.
BTW, here is a great breakdown of LaRussa's overmanaging of the 20 inning loss to the Mets -- a fun read:

Nice! I've always wondered why players don't try that. Running backs do it in the NFL to get into the end zone, why not an athletic baserunner, just vault the damn catcher . . . not that it's that easy, but it's an option. If you can't go around it, go over it.
that's sick! don't think I've ever seen that.
I thought only Willie Mays Hayes could do that!
The timing of it is incredible to be able to run full speed and then time it right without over-jumping, wow. Nice play, dude.
How the **** did you get that embed code to work? I use WordPress too and it is just coming up blank. It's pissing me off.
Hah ah hah ah ha ha hah !!!
Holy bejesus!
That was fucking insane.
Mother of God.
[2] Yeah, but Cliff, can you imagine the potential for injury? You'd have to be one limber motherfucker to be able to pull that off without breaking a wrist or a rib or god knows what.
Dude looks like a trained seal!
God, that is just too surreal.

And footballers are mostly leaping onto grass. This guy leapt onto dirt/hard plastic plate.
That's what was on Wang's mind when he was rounding 3rd in Houston.
among the current Yankees, only a runner as fast and nimble as Posada could pull off such a feat.
[12]
Nick Johnson disputes that assertion.
Where does this video come from? It's annoying me that I can't make it work. Still.
[4] you may run like Hays, but you hit like shit.
[14] try looking for Fordham Iona baseball at youtube.
[16] Huh, there was nothing there earlier but now there is. Cosmic, man.
Actually, we do this all the time in Aikido. Maybe not to that height, but a youg athletic man should be able to do it.
最高!
