this must be the new interweb video sensation - i've been getting emails from friends all week with this.

i don't have time right now to get into details - have to get ready to go teach "non-flashy" drumming - but real quick, i'll say this...

this is *awesome*! sooo much fun. hilarious! the drummer is really good. i'm not a flashy player, but can do some tricks, if need be. most all of his moves are difficult to pull off, esp in the gold sparkle jacket. his time-feel never is altered by his showmanship, so that right there is excellent.

oh, and old zz top - 70's stuff - kicks major ass!

there's more clips of this group at youtube, but the zz one is what's been making the rounds...

[1] rikki rockett's not as solid as these guys! he's got some kind of drum company of sorts now, i think, and is/was touring w/ poison not too long ago...

this drummer can obviously play! prolly has a lot of marching band experience, too.

Y'all should check out the band's website, which I found by googling their name. They claim to be America's most exciting show band, whatever that means.

Great document! I was cracking up. When the guy starts doing the robot whilst drumming, I was dying.

The fact that his antic seem to leave the performance unaffected is paramount. He is a pro! I guess this is one way to keep from getting bored playing in a band like this. The performance of the band is pretty godawful, but the drummer gets props.
