Those pics were worth more than a 1,000 words.

Cool! I took them hanging out with Bags, tooling around the upper west side.

Hmmm, MLBN has the rumor of Lance Berkman to the Yankees as full time DH. $15 million team option for next season, doubtful it would be picked up, so Astros better not be asking for the moon.

[4] word is that he'd be cheap. Which is what would make it worth it. A salary dump for Houston. And the Yankees get a DH on the cheap which is the only way I think we should do it.

[5] by cheap I mean cheap in terms of prospects. Obviously not cash cheap.

Berkman has a career line of: .296 .410 .549 .959
This is just a shade below ARod, and I feel he is one of the the most underrated players in the game.

Having said that, this is his second year of declining numbers, and at his age and body type, he may be in decline. Certainly we can afford 1/3 of his $14.5m for this season, and he will probably help. However, his current line of .245 .372 .436 .808 is worse then Posada, and having a fulltime DH does limit our flexibility. He can't help us in the field (at 1st base, where we backup Teix with Miranda and Swisher).

He would improve our team some, but I would not give up ANY worthy farmhands. He will be a FA next year for cheap.

And as I type this and do some checking, I find:
