CC looks to tame Buck’s killer B’s and win number twenty.

After a two-game losing streak, we’ll be rootin’ extra hard.

Let’s Go Yan-Kees. Make us a memory.

I'm already sick of this losing streak. Lets get the Big Guy number 20.

2 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:12 pm

There you go Jorge.

3 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:14 pm

This could be going better

4 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:18 pm

Oh Christ

5 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:19 pm

So the first time Jorge Posada blocks the plate, probably in years, and he doesn't catch the god damned ball.

And I'm talking to myself.

6 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:22 pm

[5] i'm listening. :)

7 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:26 pm

glad to get out of that with only 3 runs actually.

8 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:28 pm

Run.

9 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:29 pm

Run

You are not alone.

Opposite field for Tex? Nice to see.

11 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:32 pm

Tampa's losing. I'd like to knock two numbers off the magic number tonight, so we'd better catch up

12 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 7:34 pm

White Sox are losing as well. Be nice to knock some numbers off the playoff number too.

13 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:10 pm

wow folks are really bored by this game eh?

14 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:16 pm

not that i can blame folks. 5-1 is crap.

15 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:24 pm

I guess CC has friends on the Sox, and wants to give them a little hope? They have upped their chances to 2.1%... and that may go up a point if they beat TB again.

16 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:32 pm

HIp HIP!

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:45 pm

Where is everyone? Watching Ancient Aliens on the History Channel?

I predict that the Yankees will come back and win this game.

I'm sure the news is old, but why is Arod out of the lineup?

18 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:49 pm

Uh, I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, light day for commenting all around on the Banter. Oh, well, that's cool. We'll keep the light on anyway. Actually been busy myself tonight so I haven't been able to chime in. Drag of a game. Wait, remind me, we want the Red Sox to win? But it's so much fun watching them lose.

19 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:49 pm

ACIENT ALIENS IS ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL???
What am I doing here?

20 ms october   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:52 pm

[17] the chess master wants to space out his off days since he didn't get any rehab starts.

[18] yeah this tampa-boston series is so confusing.

21 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:53 pm

Justa poundin' teh ball into the dirt...

22 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:58 pm

C'mon, at least one run per inning and they'll still win this.

23 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2010 8:59 pm

Warning track power, big whup. Dammit.

24 ms october   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:00 pm

robbie with the tease.

25 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:00 pm

Let's will these guys to victory.

LET'S GO YANKEES!

26 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:01 pm

argh. so frustrating. why are we sucking against the orioles? annoying.

27 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:04 pm

Grrrr, fuck. At least the Sox are losing 12-2. That feels good even if we're supposed to be rooting for them. Fenway fans getting bombed, that's always good.

28 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:04 pm

So are the Yankees the only team in baseball not hitting Arrieta?

29 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:06 pm

Granderson probably should have made that catch, but that is tough error to give him, he was in full stride running a long way for it.

30 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:09 pm

Michael Kay's voice gives me a headache

31 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:14 pm

[30] It's far from honey. When he and Flaherty are doing a tandem, it is like fingernails on the blackboard, or popsicle stick across the tongue.

32 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:16 pm

'Cept for the homer, and the Granderson error blast CC pitched well. That first inning was a bunch of lucky flairs.

Also, with that Granderson error, CC only gave up 5 runs...right? Not the six that Kay said.

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:17 pm

[32} And I meant flares, although flairs is kinda funny

34 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:23 pm

a nice night for berkman at least...

35 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:29 pm

Well, I'll take that trade.

36 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:31 pm

Lance's #s as a Yankee now stand at: .278 .350 .389 .739.
In Spetember, his OPS is around .950 or better.
He could become a piece of the puzzle.

Sometimes a bit of rest helps these older guys.

37 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:33 pm

[36] In the six games before the injury he was hitting .294 /.400/.529

38 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:34 pm

I will not take that trade.

39 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:34 pm

ugh

40 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:36 pm

Only luck bad tonight.

41 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:36 pm

Not liking these calls at all

42 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:37 pm

This is an embarrassing performance.

43 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:37 pm

according to gameday none of those pitches to arod or gardner were strikes. true?

44 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:38 pm

[42] Are you conjuring up William?

45 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:38 pm

Tonight=Not. Awesome.

46 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:41 pm

[44] Do you have a better description for it? The offense has been bad. The defense has been awful. Its not at all a good showing.

47 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:41 pm

[45] luckily the pbr is numbing the pain.

48 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:41 pm

[46] even your reply is a perfect william. :)

49 RagingTartabull   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:42 pm

here's the best Yankee related thing you'll read all night

http://gawker.com/5632121/minka-kellys-airplane-freak+out-happening-right-now

50 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:54 pm

At least the White Sox are losing

51 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 9:55 pm

[49] That does brighten up a lackluster evening. The sad part is that Jeter deals with that, and she could be a distraction he doesn't need this year. If Minka needs her little dog to comfort her on take-offs and landings, then she should pay for a private flight. Jeter (who I guess is close to sugar-daddy here) can afford it.

52 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 10:00 pm

So now we can't hit Mark Hendrickson either?

53 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 10:06 pm

Well, that was a real bad loss.

54 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 10:08 pm

alas, sometimes there are just off nights. i'm a bit worried though. This is pennant time. We need to turn it on!

55 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 7, 2010 10:09 pm

[54] Three off nights in a row.

56 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2010 10:14 pm

Well, that was a miserable experience, sorry for the folks at the stadium.

Buck's revenge?

57 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 11:21 pm

be vewy vewy quiet....

58 seamus   ~  Sep 7, 2010 11:22 pm

[55] oh but you are so wrong. two off days and an off night. ;)

59 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 11:43 pm

[49] Pretty funny. I like this readers comment:
"This asshat is why Jeter is full of suckitude this year. She's like his kryptonite. Dump her Jetes. She's acting like a mental case. And we need you to stop grounding into fucking double plays."

60 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 7, 2010 11:45 pm

Jesus hits #21. Currently at: .289/.353/.517/.870

61 Chyll Will   ~  Sep 8, 2010 12:41 am

[59] He seems to be strongly attracted to the crazy ones, but then quietly dumps them and goes on a tear. I seem to recall him doing so right after dumping Mariah all those years back. Maybe he owes his career to dating crazy women and dumping them at the right time (although being engaged to this one seems to have cost him dearly this season). If he does follow that usual M.O., he'll be postseason MVP...

(note to Arod: crazy and young... repeat, crazy and young and perhaps not more well known than you so as to void any contact with Lindsay Lohan, Snookie, et al)
