Say Hey! They Might Be Giants

The Giants are Whirled Champs for the first time since 1954.

Congrats on what’s been a great run.

Have the Yankees signed Cliff Lee yet?

The Gints have truly great pitching, but this was a year when everything came together. Cody Ransom a hero? Pat the Bat actually having a decent year? Huff coming up huge? Rentaria crawling out of the grave for the WS? Just one of those years. But if they don't make some serious moves this winter, they won't be in the hunt next year.

Great series for the Giants. They beat Lee twice, got 3 remarkable starts and a lot of timely hits. Wilson had a Mariano-level dominant postseason, just a little light on the innings.

Did the Rangers cool down or run into superior pitching? I'd say both.

Mad Dog Russo must be going bananas. Too bad he isn't on WFAN anymore. The afternoon show would be fun to listen to tomorrow (or any day for that matter - Mike F is as boring as dry toast).

[2] What did Cody Ransom do? Missed it completely.

Yeah, the Giants definitely had a lot go right for them. You can't count on Juan Uribe, Renteria, Burrell, Huff and Ransom next year. They are going to have to trade pitching to get some hitting, I would trade Bumgarner while his value is high.

Anyhow congrats to the Giants, they definitely deserved it and should go smoke a big fat J in the Texas clubhouse.

Somewhere Dusty Rhodes is proud.

[5] Err, Cody Ross, not Ransom, thinking of wrong Cody.

Something's wrong. Maybe it's my computer, but my posts are not going through. Good night folks.

Under the circumstances, I'm happy Texas lost. At home. In front of no less than a few Texas-sized douches. Otherwise I don't care, onto the next one!

I'm just kind of glad its over. Bad World Series, but at least a good clincher.

I'm sad..3.5 months till pitchers and catchers! Think we can get a young rotation like SF has?? I'm still wearing my Generation Tres t-shirt!!

[14] They made Generation Trey shirts?

that sounds awful

[2][4] Ditto on Cody Ross, not Ransom

Yay! Dave Righetti gets a ring, along with Bam Bam. And former Mud Hen Cody Ross (got to see him in AAA) gets one too. Just wish it had gone 7.

So, how many days 'til pitchers & catchers?

[14] Not likely in our generation. It would take a catastrophic collapse followed by an extended rebuilding process involving a lot of trades for major-ready prospects. The Yanks' biggest question mark imho is their scouting and development depts. Why have the major prospects they've had the last few years, outside of Cano, sputtered or utterly failed when translating their talents to MLB play? Is it Girardi and his coaches, or is the organization kidding itself with its prospect evaluations? And WHY does the lineup seem so unprepared against middling pitchers or URPs who otherwise get torched by middling teams?

The young players are coming. Yankee fans are the ones who have to convince management to be patient. They don't think we can be.
They are probably right.

[19] Management uses us as motivation/excuse for their methods, but they almost never listen to fans; very good business policy all things considered...
