"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

And it’s Deep Too

The Yanks and Sox compete all season long on the field. Come winter, it’s the GMs and the agents and the owners on center stage. The Yanks got Teixeira, the Sox were patient and countered with Gonzalez. Sox get Carl Crawford, Yanks all in for Cliff Lee. Sox want Russell Martin, Yanks want Russell Martin.

Boys, boys. Man, the Yanks-Sox the biggest circle jerk in baseball or what? Do these guys ever sleep?

Think of the collective disgust the rest of MLB fandom has for the Yankees and Red Sox.

BTW, nice Pryor reference, Alex.

Well, it's just a dick measuring contest, ain't it? So that's what made me think of that Pryor routine.

I believe it's a form of homosocialism.

i really wish Bud would just contract the small market shit sox. man, do i fucking loathe them. it's weird, i'm generally a very passive guy, but i truly *hate* the shit sox. you'll have that...

well, one of Russel Martin's three middle names (!!!) is Coltrane. so, for that alone, i think Mr. OK Jazz Tokyo & I would be fine having him on the time! ; )

not that this stupid comment of mine will ever make it to the banter. i'm thinking of not commenting ever again - every single one has to await moderation and it's rather infuriating... : /

so, how come this comment worked, but not the one before it?

does it have to do with cursing?

Everyone hates WordPress except the doggone people who should (Excepting AB who is stuck with it).

Thelarmis, cursing is so immoderate. Wordpress decided to wait for a while until you calm down.

Apropos of this topic...

I just made the mistake of reading the Daily News. Does anyone else here find Mike Lupica slightly annoying?

11 RIYank   ~  Dec 10, 2010 8:23 am

[10] No, I'm afraid you're alone on this one, bags. The rest of us find him extremely annoying.

12 williamnyy23   ~  Dec 10, 2010 8:51 am

[10] I've been reflexively ignoring Lupica for well over 10 years. It doesn't even require an effort. Seeing his byline is almost like watching a movie when a really gory scene occurs...I immediately look away. Evolution is a good thing.

Lupica was once great,, he was a boy wonder in NY in the late 70s and a star in the 80s, but that was a long time ago.

The comments thing is killing me as much as it is you guys. We've been very lucky over the years not to get bothered too tough by spam. Those days, apparently are over. I've got a great anti spam detector but it is still holding up some of your comments, erasing them or puttting them in moderation. I realize this disrupts the entire flow and I'm at wit's end as how to fix it. I can only say, please don't give up and I'll try to pass any comments being held as soon as I can.

I'm sure that doesn't make things easier but I'm aware of the situation and none too happy about it.
