As a photography freak, especially from an architectural standpoint, I loved looking through these photos and seeing if could figure out what part of NY some were taken (that the photos weren't tagged was the only bummer!)
In the non-architectural arena, I've got a TON of pictures of my grandparents from as far back as their baby years (1907-1908) all the way up to just a few years before their passings, and there's just something about pictures from those early decades that immediately makes me nostalgic, which is strange considering I wasn't around back then? Hmmm...perhaps that's the era I was meant to live in?
1) That's so cool. I especially love a candid shot from back when that feels so off-hand, so spontanious that you can easily imagine what it would be like to have lived then.
[1] I was able to ballpark of not get the exact location of some of these photos. I'm amazed and impressed that the city has changed so quickly in a relatively short period of time.
