"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Sturm und Drang

There has been a huge buzz about a long New Yorker profile on Paul Haggis vs. the Church of Scientology. Here’s the piece, written by Lawrence Wright,  and  here is a transcript of an interview with Wright on the Terry Gross Show over at NPR.

I read it last night. HUGE article, but a worthwhile read. I'm waiting to hear what a few ex-CoS friends think of it, but it is buzz worthy.

I slogged through this thing for about 30 minutes the other night and I wasn't even 3/4 done. It's all Bollocks.

back in the early days of the Elektric Band, Scott Henderson would make fun of Chick Corea and counted his cross 5's as: Sci-en-to-lo-gy, Sci-en-to-lo-gy. hilarious musician humor!

and, of course, Frank Zappa poking fun at "L. Ron Hoover and the Church of Appliantology" on Joe's Garage!

i know nothing about it and have less than zero interest...
