"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

New York Minute

I walked to the subway in the remnants of a muscle-relaxed fog this morning. I eased into a seat and took out my book. But the text was swimming all over the page so I just looked around. So many people wearing green today. Why is that? O’crap. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. I forgot to wear green. Then I looked down at my shirt – by chance it was green. No pinches today. My kids might not be so lucky.

I shall don my green Harlem USA t-shirt with a green long-sleeve shirt underneath. I'd wear my Jets jersey, but I'm not interested in advertising football at the moment...

Happy St Patty's Day. Now be safe and stay away from the chuckleheads.

Same with me. Just grabbed a shirt out of the closet, it wasn't until I got to work that I realized it was green. I've got a blue/green rack of shirts and a red one, so the odds of it being green were less than 50-50. Wasn't even thinking of St. Patrick's Day.

However, today was the first day this year I didn't wear my winter coat in the morning! Hooray Spring!

I'm working from home...on the UES...I'm boarding the windows and stocking up on bottled water and batteries. By 2 o'clock its gonna be like Dawn of the Dead with Lax Brahs out there.
