"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

New York Minute

A mother on the subway this morning. She sat on the end seat, her infant on her lap, facing her. New kid, couldn’t be more than a couple of months old.

A big dude, teenager, got on the train and stood with his back to the door, right above the mother. His elbow was only a few inches away from the her head. He didn’t see her. I wondered how we manage to negotiate space in this town, wondered if he was uncaring or just oblivious. Then he looked down and saw the kid. He moved his arm, his stone face softened, and he smiled.

Really like the the new site. Well thought out & appealing-looking.
Don't know if the suggestion box is open regarding little details, but if it is, I have a suggestion about the info (author, category, # of comments) at the bottom of the featured story pictures on the home page. I think that the info could be in slightly larger type (or maybe even just aligned under the title of the story) so that it would be easier to quickly process the relevant info about what the stories are as the pictures scroll by.

Along the same lines, maybe there is space for the author's name and/or category to accompany the titles of the "more recent posts" listed immediately below those pictures?

Congrats on the great new design!
