HA! Jeter's D is so bad, Girardi has 2 thirdbasemen to help tighten up the left side of the infield!

Jeez... the Sox score SEVEN for Lester in the top of the 1st against the Tribe. Looks like a Win for the bad guys to me.

Wasted away in RISPville. Fuck.

9 Alex Belth   ~  May 25, 2011 1:38 pm

Yeah but Cano absolutely ripped that. Bad luck there.

Ack, didn't realize it was day baseball today.

11 Alex Belth   ~  May 25, 2011 1:45 pm

Andruw!

12 thelarmis   ~  May 25, 2011 1:46 pm

andruw was here.

that was a sign outside a sports bar here in midtown. i've got the braves game on here. joe simpson is announcing and he's wilker's "card of the day" at cardboard gods.

reading lohud before and seeing andruw getting the start, i figured he'd homer today. he did not disappoint!

GO YANKS!!!

15 Alex Belth   ~  May 25, 2011 2:01 pm

I can't believe A Rod grounded out. He sucks! This team is screwed. Season is over.

16 thelarmis   ~  May 25, 2011 2:10 pm

[15] it was Jeter's fault. just ask OYF! see: a-rod is just trying to be like jetes...

was the HBP intentional? i sure hope not...

17 thelarmis   ~  May 25, 2011 2:11 pm

hinske just went yard for the bravos. i liked having him on our bench...

18 Alex Belth   ~  May 25, 2011 2:13 pm

Cano sucks too. Screw this team.

19 thelarmis   ~  May 25, 2011 2:23 pm

granderson can't get the ball past 1st base? bollocks!

20 rbj   ~  May 25, 2011 2:33 pm

Figures that it would be a good game -- when I can't see it.

21 ms october   ~  May 25, 2011 3:02 pm

looks like the score truck made some early deliveries today.

i see dickerson went in as a lidr. i have to say i like him as a 4th of.

[20] I'm willing to venture that it's always a game game when I'm not around >;)

23 thelarmis   ~  May 25, 2011 3:25 pm

well, at least we had the double steal...

24 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 25, 2011 3:48 pm

[18] Now Alex, the rank and file are only grumbling because of the current reality.

Cano is not the natural so far this year. He is lunging and swinging at balls. His defense has also been a little suspect.

Arod has not been the same since his oblique injury, or was it his hip?

Tex seems very ordinary at bat, his defense remains remarkable.

Jeter is particularly infuriating. He rarely drives the ball, and instills no confidence to hit in the clutch at the moment. He gets to the balls he can reach, but that range...

Swish is lost and pressing. I hope he can turn it around.

Posada might just turn it around.

If it wasn't for the really good starting pitching, the remarkable performances of Robertson and Joba, and Mo being Mo; Granderson having a career year, Martin being solid, and Gardner now hitting...this team would be in big trouble.

On the optimistic side, there is a lot of room for improvement, and yet the team is in first place.

25 rbj   ~  May 25, 2011 3:53 pm

nice little win.

26 Alex Belth   ~  May 25, 2011 4:02 pm

24) I understand. They aren't world beaters. Lots of room for improvement and lots of room to bitch. They are still in the hunt and actually things could be a lot worse. Don't think this is a career year for Grandy--his '07 season is still tops. I don't hold out too much hope for Jeter or Jorge long term, but hopefully, Alex gets hot again--and he's been better lately. I think it's up to Tex and Cano to lead them now. And yeah, they gotta get something out to Swish.

27 Raf   ~  May 25, 2011 7:30 pm

Swisher'll be fine;

LD%: 24 (19 career)
GB%: 35 (36)
FB%: 41 (45)
BB%: 14 (13)
K%: 26 (25)

For the most part, Swisher’s hitting at his career levels, save for more line drives, and a little less fly balls. He’s walking and striking out more or less at his career rate.
