Just in time.

I get cranky without my game thread.

I'm hoping for a BIG GAME from the BIG MAN, both on the mound and at the plate ...

2 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 7:59 pm

9-1 win for the Yankees tonight. I want a laugher

3 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:11 pm

[2] Verlander already took the 9-1 game (damn, he is dominating this year), so I'll go for a 10-1 win. Double digits, baby.

4 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:11 pm

Now that's how you start a game against a bad pitcher!

5 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:11 pm

Gritty way to start the game!

6 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:11 pm

GRONTNER!

I don't know what that means, but it sure sounds like the sort of hitter that could hit homeruns!!!

7 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:12 pm

Gritty HR!

8 RIYank   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:19 pm

Brett killed the rally.

9 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:21 pm

Lou Montenez is still in baseball?

10 Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:21 pm

I loathe Reed Johnson.

11 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:21 pm

Ah, fuck CC.

12 Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:28 pm

Robbie's only play there was to kick it soccer style. That I'd like to see one day. Asdrubal Cabrera caught a line drive a few days ago and then zipped it 10 feet to second base, behind his friggin' back for a double play.

13 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:30 pm

[10] I dislike anyone whose entire game is "LOOK HOW HARD I PLAY!"

14 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:34 pm

Oh, this game is gonna suck.

15 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:45 pm

I'm eager to see CC swing some lumber. I don't have the stones to call a homer but that'd be hilarious to see.

16 RIYank   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:47 pm

Well, he did swing it.

17 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:48 pm

That's weird. But CC would've been out anyhow, no need to pull a hammy here.

18 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:51 pm

[13] You mean the Darin Erstad-All Stars?

19 Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:51 pm

Bobby V. makes Jeter hitting 9th sound so easy.

20 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:52 pm

CC looks shakey and the Yankees look totally overmatched by Randy Wells.

21 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:54 pm

Wow, Wrigley looks beautiful..why would anyone call it a dump?

22 randym77   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:55 pm

I guess on any given Sunday...but I'm surprised at how well the Cubs have matched up against the Yanks. The Cubs have been gawd-awful this year.

23 randym77   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:57 pm

[21] Because it's really old and falling apart. They have nets up to keep the fans from being brained by falling concrete. The bathroom facilities and such are not up to modern standards. When it rains, the roof leaks.

24 Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2011 8:59 pm

[18] Nice.
[22] Playing down to the competition. Which cellar dwelling team swept the Yanks in interleague a few years back?

25 Gallego   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:00 pm

Did anyone else catch that story about the Yankees fan looking for his rings?

26 randym77   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:03 pm

Jeez Louise.

27 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:04 pm

Not good.

28 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:04 pm

...

29 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:04 pm

So much for saving the BP...

30 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:05 pm

[23] Well-put! Can't see any of that from the blimp-camera so only know those beautiful shots.

31 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:06 pm

You know what would just make this series against one of the worst teams in baseball that much better? If the offense completely rolls over now and we get a Boone Logan appearance.

32 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:11 pm

Gah, talk to my dad for father's day and we give up 4 runs.

FUGH.

33 ny2ca2dc   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:12 pm

Well there's a huge gift for all you fathers. Let's cash it in

34 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:16 pm

Dear Russell

Don't ground into a double play, you sonofabitch.

41 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:46 pm

[40] Got game online here but with no sound..I imagine John Kruk has a full stock of baseball cliches on offer?

42 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:49 pm

Dammit ... c'mon, let's hit this slop throwing douche ...

43 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:53 pm

Hmm..A-Rod probably could have scored there..

44 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:53 pm

Uh, guess what Bobby, you're kinda right, but you're *actually* wrong in this case.

Alex wasn't going to score on that well hit ball, NO MATTER his lead off 2nd.

45 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:54 pm

[43] I don't think so.

In any case, same difference after the SF ...

46 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:55 pm

[44] I'm enjoying this game on mute!
Tie game, now we got them!

48 cult of basebaal   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:59 pm

Well ... BALLS.

49 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 9:59 pm

Standing on 3-2 to cheer him striking out the opposing pitcher? I know the Cubs stink but really..

50 Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2011 10:07 pm

[39] Passa Mike Quade.
Nobody gets my Pete's Dragon joke. : /

51 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2011 10:13 pm

[104] hard hit grounder, took a bad hop. nailed nino in the chest. he spun around and fell to the ground.

the ball caromed right to nunez who promptly threw it with all his might...directly into the ground 6 inches in front of him.

it's was *hilarious*! no runners scored...

108 thelarmis   ~  Jun 20, 2011 12:28 am

[107] "it's was" - also hilarious!
