When is Chavez due to come off the DL? He was having a pretty good season prior to the injury, and we could use him now with ARod on the shelf.

Is there a warrant out for Kay's arrest in Canada?

6 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:26 pm

Grrrrr ... maybe Fat Bastard needed to take a few more days off before returning to the rotation ...

7 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:28 pm

[8] It is increasingly clear that Nuñez is not a ML caliber player. Sadly, he's still miles better then Peña.

11 monkeypants   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:33 pm

Might be time for bed soon.

12 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:34 pm

What a shit hole of sub-par pitching and rotten-fucking luck.

FUCK!

13 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:36 pm

[10] Well, he's certainly not a ML caliber utility man ...

14 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:37 pm

40?

40???

Seriously, I don't give a shit how many more runs Fat Bastard gives up this inning, Noesi should be in to start the next one ...

Though, frankly, this *is* about what Ayala is worth ...

20 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:41 pm

Wow.

What a fiasco.

And there's eight innings left of basball to play!

What other craziness is in store for us?

21 OldYanksFan   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:45 pm

I just got in. Thought I was seeing things at 7-0, until the 7 changed to an 8.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???????????
Who gives up 8 runs in 1 inning????

22 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:46 pm

Fugh.

Someone dropped a turd in my mouth while I was sleeping ... and then punched me in the balls to wake me up ...

23 monkeypants   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:54 pm

Another misplay by Nuñez...

24 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:54 pm

25 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 7:56 pm

37 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:09 pm

Damn it. We needed those two more runs (obviously). Damn.

38 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:09 pm

Jeez, Cult, you have a rough day or something? Just checking out the thread now. Dag. LOL

39 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:12 pm

Ah, Mr Noesi.

40 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:13 pm

CORNFLAKE WITH A RUNNING STAB!!!

=)

42 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:15 pm

[38] Eh? My day was fine, until the bottom of the 1st.

I'd say an 8 run 1st for the opposition is enough to put most people off their day, but YMMV ...

;-)

43 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:15 pm

cool story about Martin at the ASG, but kinda odd that he would tell that story about himself.

still, he did the right thing.

always do the right thing. I got it, I'm gone.

44 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:18 pm

What's YMMV?

45 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:21 pm

46 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:24 pm

[43] What the fuck is that, voodoo shit?

(I know, that's from a different scene, but still. :)

47 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:25 pm

Oh, and duh, that's Phil Leotardo who says it. I just now made the connection. (I've been re-watching the Sopranos lately.)

48 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:27 pm

[47] Moe and Joe what sir?

49 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:28 pm

Moe and Joe what...Moe and Joe BLACK, how's that?

50 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:29 pm

God, what a brilliant fucking film. After all these years.

51 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:29 pm

welp, see ya Joey Bats

52 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:29 pm

45) Never heard that one. Funny.

Nice DP.

53 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:30 pm

[50] right? hearing that Spike is playing Mookie in his new movie is enough to get me on board without knowing anything else about it.

54 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:30 pm
55 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:32 pm

C'mon Slappy, battle back!

56 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:35 pm

Ouch.

50) I loved Do the Right Thing when it came out. Saw it on Opening Day on 50th street and 8th Avenue. I like it less now. Still one of Spike's best movies, and that's a short list, and it has some dynamic moments, but I think dramatically it's weak in the final act.

57 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:37 pm

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

CaNO.

=(

58 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:42 pm

*That* was a strike.

HECTOR!

59 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:43 pm

At least Noesi has learned to make them hit it to the RF side of the park ...

60 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:46 pm

[56] Yes, I can understand that. It's by no means a perfect film but it is a great one. It captures what it meant to capture so perfectly. I think it's a film whose excellence lies in its texture more than in its narrative or even characters, though I think it's pretty strong in both of those as well.

I still find Mother Sister's raving explosion at the end "BURN IT DOWN, BURN IT DOWWWN!" to be one of the most powerful moments in cinema.

61 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:47 pm

Way to go, Bodie!

62 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:49 pm

YAAAYYYYYYYY!!!

63 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:49 pm

GET OFF ME BALL!!!

GET UP AND GETGETGET GONE!

64 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:50 pm

ANDY!!

{56, 60} yeah its not a perfect movie, and I still don't buy Spike's pat little explanation of "yeah, uh...Sal's a racist!" it just seems like a cop out to me. But I think it completely captures a moment in time perfectly

65 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:50 pm

Fuck!

Damn, nice catch.

66 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:50 pm

FUCK.

That was a triple.

AAAAAAAAAAH.

67 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:52 pm

[64] *Frowning at you displeasedly*

Don't use that name unless you are referring to #46.

That is all.

68 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:54 pm

[67] I know I looked at it right after I typed it and it felt weird, never again

69 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:54 pm

[64] He can indeed be very pat. I saw him about fifteen years ago at some kind of forum at BAM about whatever, Blacks Today! or whatever, and he rubbed me the wrong way, clowning while the others were trying to be serious, being smug, etc. But whatever, he's still Spike Lee and I'll always root for his artistic success.

70 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 14, 2011 8:56 pm

[68] :)

Five Hail Mary's, my son, and we'll put it behind us.

78 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:09 pm

oh jeez...

79 Just Fair   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:12 pm

My 10th anniversary dinner caused me to miss much excitement thus far. Holy Smokes! It was 3-0 when I parked the car 2 hours ago.

80 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:15 pm

you can go straight to hell Boone

81 randym77   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:16 pm

[77]

Super Colon Blow
gave up 8 runs in the first.
Yanks have made it close.

82 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:19 pm

I honestly still think this game is far from over

83 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:20 pm

[81] Wow!! Thanks for the haiku recap, quite a game!

Boone Logan..at some point don't you just stop using the guy? JoeyJoeJoe..get yer head out of the Binder and wake up!

84 RagingTartabull   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:21 pm

Post ASG Horsefucking shit!

87 randym77   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:40 pm

Okay, now I think this game is pretty much over...

88 randym77   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:56 pm

The left side of the infield is looking awfully porous.

89 Just Fair   ~  Jul 14, 2011 9:59 pm
90 randym77   ~  Jul 14, 2011 10:01 pm

Score looks like a football game.

91 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 10:05 pm

Okay, so maybe I was wrong about the comeback.

92 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 14, 2011 10:07 pm

64) Yeah, what you said. End was a cop out. But there it was a movie of the moment.

93 MSM35   ~  Jul 14, 2011 10:07 pm

I don't think Spike writes white people well. They are usually one dimensional. On the other hand X was brilliant.
When Mitre comes in it's time to change the channel. That plate umpire was really tight in the first inning for Colon. He needs the corner. Where is John Hershberg when you need him?

94 OldYanksFan   ~  Jul 14, 2011 10:23 pm

I'll go out on a limb here and proclaim that Mitre is not the answer.
