They say it may rain today. I say bring it on.

Well this sucks.

4 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 1:34 pm

God fucking dammit.

5 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 1:45 pm

Excellent.

Mr. Jones sure doesn't get cheated on his swings, does he?

6 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:03 pm

Dammit Laird, you've got to tag on that.

7 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:09 pm

Good to flip over to the Red Sox game as soon as the double play happened to see the Sox take a 5-2 lead. The Mariners are a disaster.

Nune5!!!

9 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:19 pm

Nuney!

10 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:27 pm

Nunie! 7) Yeah, watch them take two of three against the Yanks. Ugh.

11 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:33 pm

[10] Your pessimism knows no bounds. ; )

12 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:34 pm

Uh, you don't have to use the entire ballpark to get outs, Bart.

Just saying.

13 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:35 pm

Your out poindexter! Exciting play.

14 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 2:35 pm

[13] You're. Rats.

I <3 Granderson!

17 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 3:03 pm

Robbie, don't cadillac it for cripes sakes.

Can Soriano's ego handle a demotion from the eight inning to the seventh inning? I mean, after al, he was promoted from closer to the most important job in all of baseball, The Eighth Inning Guy. But then to be bumped all the way down to the Seventh Inning Guy, I don't know. Maybe they could make him the Sixth Inning Guy instead...he might take that news better.

Here's your rain, you NYC guys!

20 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 3:45 pm

[18] Just tell him that the 7th is the 8th inning's 8th inning.

21 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 3:57 pm

Or the all important 19th, 20th, 21st out guy.

22 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 3:59 pm

Uh-oh.

23 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:00 pm

[21] The seventh inning is the new eight inning?

24 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:00 pm

C'mon Mo, shut this thing down.

25 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:03 pm

Broken bat ground ball. Is there anything finer?

26 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:04 pm

[23] Exactly!

27 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:12 pm

SO nice to have speed on the team again.

28 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:16 pm

Why would the SS *not* come home with that ground ball? even if he bobbled it and had little chance, it is still worth gambling to prevent the lead from growing to three runs. I wonder the difference in win expectancy?

29 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:17 pm

Ooh, defensive replacements...full-on Chessmaster mode.

30 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:21 pm

C'mon Mo, can't let this one get away.

31 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:22 pm

That third run is looking bigger and bigger.

32 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:23 pm

Uh, this is nerve wracking now.

33 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:24 pm

Jesus, he was playing deep.

34 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:24 pm

Shit.

35 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:25 pm

Why the hell was Gardner playing so deep?

36 Just Fair   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:26 pm

That works.
All Rise.

37 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:26 pm

And ... exhale.

38 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:26 pm

Oh, you area tricky one, Mariano Rivera.

39 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:27 pm

[35] No doubles.

40 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:27 pm

Fuckin' A.

LOL

41 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:29 pm

[39] Yeah, but as O'Neill said, that's really stupid (sehr dumm, auf Deutsch) with Mo' pitching.

42 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:31 pm

Strange game, but we'll take it!

43 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:33 pm

[41] True, but you can't be a Chessmaster unless you move pieces ...

44 monkeypants   ~  Jul 24, 2011 4:40 pm

[43] Indeed! Der Chessmaster ist ein übermench, aber ich bin nicht.
