3 batters into the Snakes-Brewers game LF Braun guns down a guy at the plate. Runner was trying to score from 2nd on a single. Nice.

2 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:14 pm

Nice play. Let's see how IPK does, now.

3 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:15 pm

Difficult to root for the D-backs, but I will, at least today. It's IPK on the mound, after all. (You shoulda traded Joba instead, Cash.)

4 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:37 pm

[3] Why would the Diamondbacks want a middle reliever?

5 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:48 pm

go brew crew!!!

ipk's beard is A LOT better than scott feldman's...

6 T. Hawk   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:49 pm

Yeah this Kennedy thing is going to sting for as long as it continues/Joba and Hughes's ineffectiveness continues

7 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:53 pm

8 pitch ab for ipK

8 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 2:55 pm

lakefront ale from milwaukee is very good. : )

9 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:01 pm

easy inning for ipk

10 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:06 pm

ooh, i thought that was a strikeout.

here's j-up. he's pretty good...

11 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:09 pm

i wish my computer keyboard came with a backwards "k"

12 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:13 pm

gallardo is good!

13 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:19 pm

i'm a big braun fan. i hope he gets the mvp. what a player!

14 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:20 pm

ipk in BIG trouble.

15 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:25 pm

ipk manages the trouble well.

1-0 brewers

16 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:25 pm

He got out of it without too much damage.

17 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:29 pm

Every time someone says "ipk" it makes me want an ipa.

18 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:32 pm

[8] New Glarus is another good brewery from Wisconsin.

19 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:37 pm

[18] Yes! I've had that.

20 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:38 pm

i applaud ipk hitting morgan in the ass. that little runt deserves it. i can't stand his "tony plush" act. idiot.

21 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:40 pm

another hit for the hebrew hammer!

[18] not familiar with that. lake louie was good, too.

[17] i don't like ipa's. they're really popular though...

22 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:41 pm

prince could end up in our division - jays or oreo's...

23 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:44 pm

here comes ian to bat.

(don't wanna make RI start drinkin' too early...)

24 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:44 pm

[22] Interesting. I guess "Batdance" might be inspiring, but otherwise I don't see why they'd want him. (But I could definitely see the Yankees wanting to party like it's 1999.)

25 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:45 pm

[23] No, can't yet, for sure. I have to go shopping in a few minutes. Grub fixin's. (That's what you southerners say, I believe.)

26 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:46 pm

ok, i remember seeing the spotted cow ale in WI. didn't have it though...

27 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:50 pm

[24] well, his hometown twinkies sure could use his "batdance." it'd be easy to choose at-bat music.

[25] yes, i always call it "grub fixin's" - how'd you know?

yeah, no ale for me - i've gotta work tonight and it's 45 miles away. i might have 1 or 3 when i get home, depends how late it is.

gonna dvr the game and watch highlights if we win...

28 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:57 pm

well, that was exciting!

29 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 3:59 pm

bloop hit.

2-0 beer.

30 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:00 pm

Go Beers!

31 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:05 pm

it's cool that the hottie in the front row behind home plate seems to be keeping score.

32 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:08 pm

ipa's - 2
ipk's - 0

33 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:08 pm

[31] Supposedly, she's there for every game ... and favors tank tops in the Summer!

34 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:13 pm

[31] ooh la la! so, she's kinda famous there, huh? i'm not surprised...

35 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:17 pm

36 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:18 pm

hebrew hitting machine. his 3rd, a 2-out double.

37 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:20 pm

That was a hell of a hit. You got to want Brewers-Cardinals next round. They had some good fireworks this season. Little Red Corvette!

38 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:20 pm

kegger!

4-0 suds

39 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:20 pm

Ooops ... bad time for a big fly.

Bye, IPK.

40 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:23 pm

Maybe 111 pitches was too much.

41 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:24 pm

[37] yeah, but i don't see the cards getting past the phils.

game 1 - lohse vs. doc

42 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:26 pm

[40] yeah, when kirk went to the mound, i figured it was either gonna be sayonara or ibb.

and that 1st pitch was definitely not a strike. prince really took it in stride.

43 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:27 pm

more neck tattoos. ugh.

beyond disgusting...

44 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:28 pm

Ryan Roberts CRUSHED that one.

45 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:29 pm

snakes on the board.

solo shot for neck tattoo.

46 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:30 pm

ah, the red sox. i remember them.

i wonder how my little golf buddy is doing today...

47 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:30 pm

[41] Stranger things have happened. Doc et al vs Fat Albert will be entertaining at least.

48 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:31 pm

wow, dennis martinez! tippy, too. that really brings me back. feels like it was yesterday.

and those deliveries are eerily similar. that's a good call by cal...

49 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:34 pm

That's how respond to giving up a solo shot. Strike out the side. Wow!

50 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 4:59 pm

Alright, time to root, root, root for the Cardinals!

51 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:14 pm

FAT ELVIS IS IN THE HOUSE!!!

52 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:14 pm

FAT ELVIS!!!

i've always like the Big Puma

53 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:17 pm

Fat Elvis! That was a bomb

54 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:23 pm

Wish we'd have gotten that version of Fat Elvis last year, though I know his knee was still recovering from surgery.

55 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:26 pm

i really dislike pitchers hitting.

i'm so glad my team is in the AL!

56 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:33 pm

wow. nice play!

57 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 5:51 pm

oh god, molina has a neck tattoo?

this 'trend' is absolutely nauseating...

58 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:02 pm

Ruh roh!

59 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:03 pm

[57] Yeah, I gotta say it seems a remarkably stupid idea.

60 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:04 pm

ooh, that dropped foul ball comes back to haunt them. tough play, but he should've had it.

3-1

61 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:26 pm

14 in a row retired by doc.

i'm shocked. shocked, i tell you. shocked.

62 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:26 pm

Well, good thing the Cardinals got 3 early, because they're not getting any more off Halladay ...

63 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:27 pm

Kyle Lohse has been surprisingly good this year.

He's actually the best pitcher on the Cards staff, by ERA, WHIP, and batting average against.

64 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:27 pm

[61] Fuck the Blue Jays and their "divisional tax" ...

65 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:34 pm

[63] that's dave duncan for ya! i sure hope shelley's mom will be ok...

66 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:34 pm

Oh, boy. This has Howard 3 run tater written all over it.

67 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:39 pm

What do I win?

68 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:39 pm

[66] A-yup.

69 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:39 pm

strong like bull.

wow, that was CRUSHED.

phils lead...and will win.

70 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:40 pm

Sayonnara, St. Louis ...

71 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:41 pm

[67]the same thing i win for most posts in a row on this thread! ; )

72 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:43 pm

I'm going to miss the game again :(
Hope to get back in 6 hours without knowing the score, am counting on the Banter to provide the usual knee-slapping commentary! Go Go Yankees!!

73 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:43 pm

[71] Bubkis! Even I know that one.

74 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:44 pm

ra-ul.

boy, did those wheels come off fast.

75 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:45 pm

[72] i'm gonna miss it, too. : (

[73] funny, that's the word i was gonna use! and we both love the word "bollocks" too. and if memory serves correct, you're a hobbyist drummer...is that right?

76 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:47 pm

Good to see the tarp being laid down once again in da Bronx. WTF!!!!!!

77 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:47 pm

Tarp on the field in the Bronx.

This sucks.

78 T. Hawk   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:48 pm

Got a ticket to the game tonight! Wish me luck!!

79 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:50 pm

[77] ugh.

[78] good luck, dude.

80 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:50 pm

[75] There are a few other drummers round these parts but I am Definitely not one of them. Me:musical talent as Youklis:Ugly.

81 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:50 pm

The forecast doesn't look too bad. Only a 10% chance of rain each hour.

82 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:51 pm

[76] Looks like a west - east band of rain stretching from the city to Pittsburgh. May not start on time.

83 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:51 pm

If you're a manager in a must win game, and Kyle Lohse some how manages to give up 6 runs, that's on you, not him.

84 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:56 pm

Quite the battle by Necktat here.

85 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:57 pm

[80] yeah, i know there are a few hobbyist drummers, hard to keep track of who they are.

these innings are now just a formality.

86 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:58 pm

18 in a row by doc.

lee vs carp should be a good matchup. at least for a few innings...

87 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2011 6:59 pm

[80] Wait, that means you have tons and tons of musical talent.
Braggart.

88 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2011 7:04 pm

Unreal. Buyavowel can't even get the pitcher out.

89 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 7:07 pm

Lazy fuckig defense by the pitcher
[87] Haven't you heard? Ever since the sox bowed out I have been able to recognize Youk's inner beauty. ; ) Or......... just an analogy fail. Bollocks!

90 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2011 7:09 pm

Time to switch to the Rays - Rangers game.

91 thelarmis   ~  Oct 1, 2011 7:15 pm

92 Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2011 7:16 pm
