Once Again, The Whirled Serious

It’s Rangers vs. the Cards. A friend of mine was moaning today because he doesn’t like either team. I suggested that he focus on the loser instead of paying attention to the winning team. He can’t go wrong that way (kind of like Arthur Rhodes getting a ring no matter what). Or something like that. I don’t have any great love or hatred for the Cards or the Rangers so I’m rooting for seven games.

The BP crew has the preview, and Diane has one, too.

Let’s Go Base-ball!

I hate LaRussa, McGwire, the oft repeated theory that "St. Louis has the best fans in baseball," the entire state of Texas, redneck fans, the douche whose initial is near the end of the alphabet often sitting in the front row with his mom/wife, and Fox. I won't lie, I do like Nolan Ryan, though. I'll watch a few pitches between commerical breaks, but that's it. Bollocks!

I'll go with the Rangers, as they haven't won yet. But yeah, 7 games.

I'm not sure. Would be happy enough if either won it.

Molina sighting!

A pitcher's duel.

[1] Who is the douche in the front row? I agree about the St.Louis fans nonsense. More middle-America worship by the media, really annoying.

Hey, a run!

Nice play by Albert.

nice play. nice game so far....read some impressive number about the yankees bullpen in the post season this year. funny thing about the lack of good starting pitching so far huh?....

14 briang   ~  Oct 19, 2011 9:53 pm

what's up with that negative image right there...?

weird.

15 briang   ~  Oct 19, 2011 9:54 pm

fox is evil. they really butcher these games.

16 RIYank   ~  Oct 19, 2011 9:55 pm

It's weird watching a Big Game with absolutely no tension in my belly over who wins.

I have to admit it's... a little boring.

[6] The failed former owner of the rangers. w.

18 briang   ~  Oct 19, 2011 10:06 pm

i gotta say even knowing that this is the way they been playing it, it's still weird to see them both going to the bullpen at the this time....carpenter was looking good, wilson too. i wonder what these guys will have left by game five. i know it can be won or lost right here but it's a bit of a bummer seeing these quick hooks.

19 briang   ~  Oct 19, 2011 10:10 pm

short hopped. i could see that the first time. buck was just wishing he had caught it.....i fucking hate these two.

[17] Hahahahaahahaha!!!! Totally didn't pick up on that. Yes, I too have a stronk dislike to the former owner of the Rangers. But I kind of like their players..more than St. Louis and the Ego Twins, TLR and Albert The Great.

Hard to root for anything Texas (maybe Willie Nelson et al) and LaRussa makes the game a frustrating bore with all the pitching changes. But you have to admit that he must be good, second most winning manager ever.

The Cardinals mean a lot to a large swath of the country, and are #2 to the Yankees in Championships.

We could be watching American Hoggers on A&E. But baseball it is, keeps the summer alive for as long as possible. The Yankees should be playing....

[0] That pic reminds me of Halloween III, Season of the Witch. "Three more days till Haloween..Silver Shamrock.."

[22] I saw that movie a bunch of times when I was a kid. Epic sequel fail. I hope whoever loses this series experiences a heart breaking game 7. That would be good for either side I suppose. Got to root for something.
[21] Ah.........summer...........

Weird to see the Ashton Kutcher Nikon commercials (like every 5 minutes) with him vamping on women in consideration of his current troubles.

Hey RI, is Feldman a landsman?

[23] Seemed like Channel 5 and WOR Ch 9 had it on every October, multiple times. I do have a soft spot for awful 1980s horror flicks.

27 randym77   ~  Oct 19, 2011 11:12 pm

Man, I thought the Cards wouldn't have a chance against the Rangers.

Man, those World Series Jackets that Michelle and the Biden's wore are horrendous. Just awful coloring. Gag. I hope they were not designed as an homage to desert camouflage uniforms.
