I always think of him when I see old buildings around town that look like this.

I have never seen this painting. Where do it hang? Is it in a book. I may have; who knows. Saw a Hopper exhibit at the Bowdin College Museum this past august of his Maine paintings. Had only seen a few of them before.

What I find so interesting about Hopper is that his images so closely resemble photographs. Diane Arbus said he influenced her work.

There is a block of row houses on Lexington Ave between 105-107, I think. It looks straight out of a Hopper painting. The lighting, the coloring. Gets me every time.
