Hiyoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Great photo, Alex, great. Man. This stirs my earliest visual memories (I'm a little older than you!).

Oh, so, Aaron Cook was brought up to Boston after all; it looked like there was a chance they would let him opt out. Yeah, they need him -- Beckett has decided to take a day off. (The fans just love that, by the way.)

Where is everybody?

4 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 6:39 pm

Okay. Better. Doing better, Ivan.

[3] Just got in from Aikido.

When I (surprisingly) decided to go to college, Dad caved in and bought me a car. The '72 Nova was the car of choice and the right price, but at the last moment, I decided to get a little known, economy foreign car. Basically because, my entire double-bass drum set fit in the truck (which was really semi-miraculous).

I'm glad I passed on the Nova, and got this funny looking car.... a 1972 'Volvo'.

I had the '73 model with a straight-6 and two speed automatic.

Best car I ever had which may say more about me than old Chevrolets.

By the way, was Teix's grounder to 2nd on an outside pitch?

9 OldYanksFan   ~  May 2, 2012 6:53 pm

2 speed? They made 2 speeds?

In keeping with Swedish week: Hey Hey

Just getting here (and have an eye on the Hockey game); Super Nova or No Va (no go to those challenged Spanishly)?

11 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 6:57 pm

[10] Started out shaky, got better in the second, better again in the third.

12 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 7:00 pm

Wound up getting my grandfather's '71 Malibu from sister. 350 engine that could still hit 100 after 17 years. But as the speedometer went up, the gas gauge went down.

13 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:00 pm

Okay. Well, that was fast.

14 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:06 pm

I don't like the way this is shaping up.

15 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:07 pm

Whew.

A's strike first at Fenway, too.

16 joejoejoe   ~  May 2, 2012 7:09 pm

[9] The two-speed automatic was called the Powerglide. It was a great for a 16-year old with a new license. It was slow off the line, slow at the top end, and very forgiving everywhere in between.

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 2, 2012 7:09 pm

All good.

Oh NO. I just saw that Junior Seau was found dead with a gun at his side. So sad.

18 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:20 pm

It's another Ibañez Adventure!

19 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:20 pm

By the way, I'm watching the ESPN feed. Nomar is a douche. I hadn't really grasped that fact until now.

20 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:23 pm

Yeesh.
One run in five innings, and Ivan is in serious danger of ending is W streak.

21 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 2, 2012 7:24 pm

(19) the MlB network guys even worse. Everything is 'veteran leadership' and ' playing the right way'.

Yanks bats are also No Va these days.. Sigh..

22 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 7:27 pm

Hey, one of them not out thingies

23 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:29 pm

Whoa, Eric.

24 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:30 pm

Nomar and whatshisname (O'Brien I think) are just yammering now. Any serious idea of what happened to Chavez?

25 mhoward120   ~  May 2, 2012 7:31 pm

Nuney to the toilet!

26 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:32 pm

They seem like they're in a pretty good mood in the dugout, anyway!

So nice to have 13 pitchers and Swisher injured but still on the 25 man roster. Now we have Stewart on the bench, and... that's it.

27 mhoward120   ~  May 2, 2012 7:32 pm

(25) Whoops - he missed the bowl. Ewww-Nunez

28 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:39 pm

[27] What are you talking about?

29 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:43 pm

Nomar is yammering about productive outs. It's making my ears bleed.

30 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:47 pm

o fuck.

31 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 7:48 pm

Damn, nice try Derek.

32 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 7:49 pm

Everybody loves Nuñez!

33 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 7:54 pm

I find the Yankees offense to be offensive tonight.

34 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 2, 2012 7:56 pm

Horseshit.

35 Mattpat11   ~  May 2, 2012 7:56 pm

This is annoying me.

36 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 8:02 pm

Knew it right off the bat.

37 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 8:02 pm

I dunno, any chance of a Bomber rally now? Doesn't feel like it.

38 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 8:06 pm

O'Brien points out that the home runs have hurt Nova.

39 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 8:08 pm

Sigh.

If it's any consolation, Dan Bard got shelled by the Oakland Anemics.

40 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 2, 2012 8:09 pm

Wieters is too big to be a catcher. : /

41 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 8:14 pm

[38] Joe Morgan worthy.

42 rbj   ~  May 2, 2012 8:14 pm

Good night.

43 Mattpat11   ~  May 2, 2012 8:53 pm

I'm not sure we've mentioned this, but Eduardo Nunez sucks.

44 RIYank   ~  May 2, 2012 8:53 pm

So it turns out Fred is just as good a relief pitcher as he is a starter! That's comforting.
