Perhaps in anticipation of a new movie version of “The Great Gatsby” dig this photo gallery over at Gothamist.

The trailer for that movie looks hideous. Well, no, its nice to look at, but it shows that Baz Luhrmann has probably never actually *read* The Great Gatsby. For some reason, movie makers keep mistaking it for a love story.
1) Maybe that's the way they are marketing it. That said, I've never cared for Luhrmann.
And tell me Carey Mulligan doesn't look like a kid playing dress-up.
And Luhrmann thinks everything boils down to a love story.
4) The symbolism is heavy-handed enough in the book, I hate to imagine what Luhrmann does.
