As well as the Yankees are playing--and it has been fun watching them during this stretch--I wonder when they are going to make a move to improve the outfield situation. Gardner is still weeks away (at the least) and Ibanez' average has been plummeting. I keep hearing about Ronnier Mustelier at Scranton, who has been putting up big numbers as an outfielder/second baseman. Could he be the left fielder of the immediate future? I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of others.

Chavez looked like Mattingly there.

[1] I have no idea but it would make sense to bring him up now, while the team is hot, if they're to do it at all. Much less pressure on him than if they wait til they start scuffling.

Exciting triple. Rats!

Is it just destiny, destiny?
Or is it just a game in my mind, Kuroda?

Someone contribute a song about Andrelton. It's a challenge.

16 RIYank   ~  Jun 19, 2012 7:17 pm

That was a break. Did Chipper slow up as he approached home?

17 RIYank   ~  Jun 19, 2012 7:20 pm

Oh, he slud.

18 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2012 7:30 pm

22 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2012 7:51 pm

What is this tie game? Why aren't the Yankees beating that awful team from the South?

Oops, sorry..Grandma OK Jazz hijacked my brain for a minute. That's her regular commentary while games are on.

So what I miss besides Hiroki "The Knack" Kuroda jokes?

23 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 19, 2012 7:52 pm

Kenny's funny: "The problem is, eventually you're going to have to pitch to somebody."

31 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:04 pm

Weird.

32 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:23 pm

Good start Curtis.

33 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:23 pm

39 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:34 pm

Well, that wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

40 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:35 pm

Michael Kay: "So the Yankees once again have had their opportunities and have failed to make the most of them."
As if they haven't won ten games in a row.

42 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:43 pm

Nice catch, Curtis.

43 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:46 pm

That's right, we've failed yet to homer, which means we're not eligible to win this game.

44 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:49 pm

Ouch. That hurts.

45 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:50 pm

Yes.

46 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:51 pm

Oh, for fuck's sake!

47 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:52 pm

Which only leaves the ninth.

48 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:57 pm

Jeter single to RF, Granderson tater to walk-off. Who's with me?

49 rbj   ~  Jun 19, 2012 8:58 pm

[48] I'm on board.

50 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:01 pm

[48] If you're going to twist my arm...

51 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:01 pm

[48] Beautiful.

52 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:03 pm

Jeter's looking a bit overmatched.

53 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:04 pm

Damn, that first pitch slider wasn't fair.

54 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:04 pm

Two in a row.

Fuck.

55 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:05 pm

Oooof.

Just like that.

56 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:05 pm

Hmm.

57 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:05 pm

Oh well.

58 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:06 pm

Well it was fun while it lasted.

59 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:06 pm

Can't win 'em all.

60 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 19, 2012 9:06 pm

It's hard to have a bad loss after winning ten straight, but when you have two guys thrown out at the plate and lose by one... disappointing.
