Yes, indeed it is.

LoHud is reporting CC to the DL. Oh, noes!!!

Goldbricker? I prefer "teacher enjoying his well-deserved summer vacation." Get it right next time.

[1] Looks like CC's only going to miss two starts, which isn't bad, and it doesn't sound like anyone's overly concerned about this.

[3] Man, I hope that's right. I remember similar assurances about Gardner.

Probably the time off will be good for him. I almost wish Jeter would get a minor injury like last year and take a week or two off before the break ... and before he dips under .300.

Keep your goldbrickin' ass out of my beach community, Lebowski

6 rbj   ~  Jun 27, 2012 11:33 am

I hope it's minor and 15 days of rest heals it.

7 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 11:58 am

Andy!

8 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 12:25 pm

Why is it a goldbricker's delight? Maybe Alex meant "golden god".

9 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 12:35 pm

Dang!

Teixeira would have taken A-Rod's throw with his foot on the bag.

10 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 12:44 pm

That's our Andy.

11 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:00 pm

i'm definitely NOT a goldbricker - i teach year round! including tonight. i finish up prep classes and final evaluations on auditions later tonight. new quarter begins next week and my private lessons are always in season.

yeah, let's hope CC is fine! sounds like he should be...

we should also be beating the crap out of Ubaldo. another very unfortunate name. ubaldo & asdubul as teammates. ouch!

and, of course, the shit sox are racking up the runs in the bottom of the 1st at that crappy bandbox in boston. feh.

12 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:16 pm

[11] The Red Sox are almost irrelevant now. I mean, they could win 20 in a row and still be behind us.

13 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:17 pm

Happy Eric Chavez Day!

14 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:23 pm

Oh no.

15 NYYfan22   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:25 pm

Dear Andy,

Please don't do that again.

Thanks,
Me

16 NYYfan22   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:27 pm

Kotchman is a bastard for that. Dammit.

17 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:29 pm

oh fuck. first CC, now Andy.

today sucks.

18 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:29 pm

Oh no, just getting back, what happened to Andy?

19 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:29 pm

Fuck.

20 NYYfan22   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:32 pm

Took a sharp line drive off his left shin or ankle.

21 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:34 pm

That kid at third sucks.

22 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:35 pm

Oh, lord. This is too much responsibility (and fun) for Joe. I don't think I can stand to watch this game.

23 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:38 pm

This really is disturbing. It want from a beautiful day, an opportunity to watch the Yankees while working (to me, gold bricking would be sneaking out TO the ballpark) but now a potential season altering moment. The two best pitchers on the staff go down on the same day? Chilling.

24 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:42 pm

and there goes the lead...

25 rbj   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:45 pm

Horrible to hear about Andy.

26 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:50 pm

Big strikeout there, but it didn't look easy for Garcia. The score truck must now turn on the turbocharges and the offense needs to win this in honor of Andy.

27 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:57 pm

OK. I now hate everything about the Clevelanders. That stupid racist patch on the uniform. Ublado is a deeck, even seeing Shelly Duncan forced to play with them, and more. ARGHHH.

28 RagingTartabull   ~  Jun 27, 2012 1:59 pm

will Aaron Small please pick up the white courtesy phone?

29 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:08 pm

Yay, Rob!

30 rbj   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:09 pm

Robbie!

31 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:09 pm

Cano changes the mood! He just flicked that ball to the opposite field stands. All arms.

32 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:11 pm

dontcha know!

33 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:35 pm

Hammered.

34 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:37 pm

Fracture. Minimum of six weeks.

SHIT.

35 NYYfan22   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:38 pm

I hate you, Casey Kotchman.

36 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:38 pm

a few last thoughts on the Wise non-catch last night:

- hard to believe the ump didn't ask to see the ball.

- also hard to believe that no other ump saw the guy in the red shirt holding the ball up and reverse the call.

- everyone's saying Wise closed his glove and jogged toward the dugout. not entirely true. very soon into his trot, he punched the inside webbing of his glove. no one would do that if there was a ball in the pocket.

37 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:38 pm

Kay just announced, Fractured ankle for Pettitte. Minimum out 6 weeks, probably 2 months.

38 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:39 pm

Let's sign Jamie Moyer!

39 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:40 pm

[37] WHAT?!?!?!

omg, you're kidding. no fucking way. i thought it would be nothing and he wouldn't even miss a start. oh fuck.

what are the chances he comes back yet again and pitches this brilliantly???

: (

40 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:43 pm

Holy fuck.

Fucking goddamn motherfucking fuck.

Fuck.

41 rbj   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:45 pm

Shit shit shit!

42 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:46 pm

Teixeira kicked it into overdrive there, huh?

43 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:49 pm

well, if Andy comes back and pitches well in Sept and throughout the playoffs, maybe he'll be rested enough to come back again next season and pitch with Mo!

44 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:51 pm

[43] Shoot, I wish I had let you have #42 for that one.

45 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:53 pm

And a fucking freak accident, too.

Not even something age-related.

So frustrating.

46 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 2:57 pm

[44] we'll take care of that at our next kangajoo meeting.

47 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:00 pm

please get out of this situation untucked.

48 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:02 pm

[47] I'm ready to be tucked into bed after this day.

49 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:04 pm

Whew, needed that K.

50 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:07 pm

Fuck.

I WANT MO.

51 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:07 pm

It's come to this. We need something positive here.

52 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:08 pm

Pfew.

53 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:09 pm

Now what the fuck do we do without Andy?

54 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:09 pm

Exhale.

55 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:09 pm

[53] Jamie Moyer. It's time.

56 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:10 pm

LOL Soriano almost untucked his entire uniform.

Nice win under the circumstances. Hughes, Nova, Kuroda, and now Freddy have to keep it going.

57 thelarmis   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:12 pm

untucked!

58 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:12 pm

[55] You really think Jamie Moyer can pitch in the AL East? That would be senior abuse.

59 Jon DeRosa   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:18 pm

I think the Yanks should look around, realize this is a good year to win the World Series since there aren't a ton of scary teams and go all in for a Hamels or a Grienke with the intention of signing the guy long term as well.

60 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:19 pm

[58] I want someone older than Bryce Harper's dad.

61 RIYank   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:21 pm

[59] I could see that, although not Greinke because he has Applephobia or some kind of psychological disorder like that.

But not Garza. I wouldn't give up anyone for Garza.

62 Jon DeRosa   ~  Jun 27, 2012 3:26 pm

[61] moving to recap thread...
