Yanks look to avoid a disastrous West Coast swing with a win today.

Never mind crying over spilt milk:

I've had dreams where Ichiro led off for the Yankees, followed by Jeter and then Cano. Is today the day those dreams are realized?

(Trying to take your advice on the milk and stay positive.)

Tampa DFA'd Matsui.

What say we sign Hideki tomorrow, have him go 10 for 15 vs Boston over the weekend, and then have the retirement press conference at the Stadium first thing Monday morning?

Yes!

Almost missed the game.

[1] Maybe 3 years ago, but now, Ichiro should not be anywhere near the top of our order.

6 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 2:58 pm

Not good.

I'm 99% sure Girardi is leading Ichiro off because he knows this could be his final game in Seattle.

And if that's the reason, I'm basically OK with it.

A bad time for Nova to suck.

9 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 3:21 pm

Another runner stranded at third. I hate this.

10 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 3:28 pm

That's better, Ivan.

11 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 4:21 pm

Yup, Jeter's definitely finished. only 3 for 3 with a home run.

Modified David Brent:

1) Leave Work.
2) Get on subway.

....

3) Yanks win.

damn i totally didn't realize it was a day game. just got home though and the game is on!

14 seamus   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:03 pm

pitching has been solid on this west coast trip. our bats though. sigh.

15 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:08 pm

[14] Nova = six walks today. Including walking in a run in the first. Command was a bit off today.

I've been watching this at my dad's house. Oi! There's the 3rd straight hit the Yanks have had with a risp with no run scoring. FWIW.

17 seamus   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:30 pm

[14] fair enough. still only 2 runs.

well, if we don't score here then i'm gonna whine really loud.

18 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:31 pm

Atta boy, Curtis! Pop up with the bases loaded. Huzzah!

19 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:31 pm

Bases loaded, no outs? Seattle's got us right where they want us.

20 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:35 pm

I now foresee a strikeout for Nix.

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:37 pm

Reverse Jinx, BABY! A bases clearing double. Holy Shit. I can't believe it!

22 seamus   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:38 pm

woo hoo! there's the score truck. nix must have been valet parking it.

23 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:44 pm

Martin with a 2 out rbi. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Mo.

24 Jon DeRosa   ~  Jul 25, 2012 5:56 pm

Modified Brent!

25 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 6:05 pm

2 pitches, 2 outs.

26 rbj   ~  Jul 25, 2012 6:08 pm

Untuck!

27 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 25, 2012 6:08 pm

Well that makes this a little less of a train wreck of a road trip. Bring on Boston!

28 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 25, 2012 7:00 pm

Boston is going be strange without A-Rod. He always elevated his play for those games.

I like the Matsui idea, but we seem to have enough aging DHs with bad knees and weak gloves.
