Beat of the Day
(white man) in hammersmith
i saw the clash at shea stadium when i was a kid, in '82. they opened for the Who on their Long Live Rock tour. i also saw the Police there on their Synchronicity tour, same year.
there were many openers for both bands - clash, joan jett, david johannsen (before he became whatever name he went by...) and others.
never did care for The Clash...
Great track. This one was key for me in "getting" the Clash. I liked them, but then I really paid attention.
I saw those same tours in Phillie. I didn't respect the Clash back then, even though my rommies loved them. The Clash nearly got booed off the stage, 'cause we wanted The Who.
I finally got the Clash, but it was too late. I had seen them again before they split up. Very good music.
