Beat of the Day
Over at Fangraphs, they have an article on how PS ticket sales are distributed between the teams and the players. This can vary a lot depending on the total number of games played, number of tickets sold, and ticket prices of the games.
Based on the Yankees take and SF's take, I'm going to GUESS that the Yankees Organization would make $25m or more for a WS victory. I'll also guess that a 6 game Series could generate over $30m for the Yankees.
I don't know if the 'formula' is kept a secret by MLB, but for us fans who discuss payroll, it's good to know how financially motivated the Yankees are to get to the PS.
