"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Hip, Hip…

To-day marks the 10th anniversary of Bronx Banter.

I started the site to learn how to write. Now, it is a way of life, part of what I do and who I am.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the jernt through the years, from my fellow writers, to the loyal readers.

Jeter fist pump. It’s a day to celebrate.

And if you have ever any reason to doubt, think about all the people in our neighborhoods who were wildly celebrating this anniversary last night :)

3) I know, I was flattered, really. LOL.

I'm proud as hell, man. Screw false modesty. This is an achievement.

And if Banter helped you learn to write, well then Mr. Hemingway, congratulations! >;)

[0] Congratulations, AB! 10 years! And we are all better off for having it.

So - when and where is the party? ;)

Congrats AB.
Is there a link anywhere to the archives of the original days, as it looked like at the time?
Crazy to think back on how this place has evolved, yet still been the only place I go for Yankee chat after all these years.

9) The old sites platform, on Blogspot, All-Baseball, don't exist. But you can see those posts in the archives here. And Baseball Toaster is still up.

"There's a simple doctrine: outside of a person's love, the most sacred thing that they can give is their labor. And somehow or another along the way, we tend to forget that. Labor is a very precious thing that you have. Anytime that you can combine labor with love, you've made a good merger...." James Carville in "The War Room."

I have been reading this site daily for at least half of those ten years. Since I live on the left coast, I don't often have the opportunity to comment, particularly on the game threads. I have learned so much from all the contributors not only about baseball, but also regarding music, art, movies and all the other tidbits that Alex presents for our enjoyment on a daily basis. Thanks for being here everyday Alex. Congratulations on 10 great years.

Congrats, Alex. BBB is by far my favorite place to go for Yankees commentary and camaraderie and for the unexpected. I'm not a writer, but you've opened my eyes to writing.

Thanks, you dudes.

De-lurking for just a moment or two to join the happy crowd and say congratulations. I post pretty infrequently so don't add much to the neighborhood, but I've been a Banter reader since 2004, maybe 2003, because this continued to be the best place to be a Yankee fan but still get it straight. (I can't count the number of sports-related blogs I subscribed to that either died or which I gave up on.) Hell, I learned that the Yankees had won the ALDS from the comments here at least a half-minute before Yahoo updated game day. The add'l material on movies and the NY notes are a bonus, and frankly there's a lot of good sports-writing I would never have read except that the Banter either re-printed it or else pointed me there.

So as [1] said, "Keep on keeping on", and thank you.

Yay! What an accomplishment. You have the respect and provided a venue for the esteemed and laymen alike. It's a daily destination like drinking a fine cappuccino. Congrats, AB.

[22] Agreed! First read every morning for me over my espresso. Well done AB, look forward to the next 10 years!

Texas says right on, Alex. Congrats and keep bringing it.

Enjoy this, almost always. Thank you.
