Straight, No Chaser

Youk talks to Mark Feinsand. I like his candor though it won’t endear him to Yankee fans. You know what will? Him not sucking.

More Yankee notes from the intrepid Chad Jennings, here and here.

I'm not sure "him not sucking" will do the trick. It would probably stave off calls for his head - but he is a tough pill to swallow. You'd think by now he would have enough media savvy to say things like "the past is the past - let's talk about the present - I play for the Yankees now". He should probably go out of his way to avoid using the words "Red Sox" when speaking to reporters.

Rough around the edges is ok to a degree. Prickly gets old quick. Whydo I have the feeling this is going to feel a lot like Randy Johnson Part 2 - with awkward post game interviews and just weird body language.

He's not just "getting ready to play baseball". For crying out loud, toss your new fans a crumb or two.

(sigh)

He said all the right things
Trying to think of a good example from Yankee point
Best I could think of was Nettles / Gossage?? (Padres) Would Andy say I'm an Astro? Boggs and Clemens Red Sox's and they helped.

Cone Yankee or Met. I think Met but it is close.

Honestly, it will probably take me all of two weeks to think of him as a Yankee.

After guys like Boggs and Damon, this is small potatoes.

We all know he is a Red Sox so who cares

When he has that 1st 12 pitch at bat it will be fun.
if you're honest you didn't like when he came up.
Pain in the ass at bat which the yanks could use.

Meh, a nothingburger. In 2025, on old timer's day, in which stadium to you expect Youk to show up?

He's on a one year contract, will probably play for a few more years, so I suspect he'll play well, to get a decent contract. At least this keeps A-Rod out of the news for a few days.
