OK, keeping Youk off the turf in Toronto makes sense. But now I'm starting to get concerned.

2 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 5:09 pm

Not the turf. It's "lower back tightness".

3 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 5:16 pm

[2] That's what I meant. His back is still tight. Given that the injury bug has hit the Yankees hard right now, I wonder if it's worse than what we know.

4 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 5:29 pm

[3] Oh, right. Girardi says 'tomorrow... we hope'. I don't think they're hiding anything.

5 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:13 pm

Robbie is so smooth.

6 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:18 pm

Hiro's getting hammered.

7 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:20 pm

Finally.

8 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:23 pm

Ugh.

Hope this ends better than it began ...

9 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:33 pm

Hid-ugly tonight.

10 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:34 pm

Brett Lawrie? Seriously?

Hiroki is having location problems {/understaement}

11 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:36 pm

Hey, here's a thought ... let's see what Adam Warren has got tonight!

12 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:37 pm

I think Kuroda should throw that slider. Maybe he can't get it over the plate. But it looks mean. I bet the Jays wouldn't be teeing off on it like they are on the sinker.

13 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:38 pm

Like that! Got Bautista on the slider.

14 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:41 pm

VW!

15 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:41 pm

Well, there's one.

16 Sliced Bread   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:42 pm

19 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 6:58 pm

Two little gritty guys on the bases. Time to rock.

Five & dime rallytime

21 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:00 pm

Holy cow. I got an adrenaline rush from the foul.

22 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:01 pm

Okay seriously, what the hell is the deal with Ben Francisco?

23 Sliced Bread   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:01 pm

21)yeah beautiful swing there

24 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:02 pm

Can someone explain to me the relationship between between the following:

Ben Francisco
Designated Hitter
# 2 in the lineup

25 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:02 pm

See, *that's* how it's done, Ben.

26 Sliced Bread   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:02 pm

Fuck yes, Rob

27 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:03 pm

Green light on 3-1...
Yes!

28 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:03 pm

RIPPER GO BOOM!

29 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:03 pm

Oh Robbie!

30 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:03 pm

Man, thank Mo for Rob, is all I can say.

31 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:03 pm

Woo-Hoo!

32 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:04 pm

Man, I need to doubt this team more often ...

33 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:04 pm

[24] He's right handed.

In other news, Robinson Cano is left handed.

34 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:04 pm

[22] [24] He actually looked good that AB, though.

I mean, I'm not scratching my head wondering why no other team scooped him up. But I'm thinking it could work out...

35 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:08 pm

Oy.

36 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:13 pm

Hiroki looks okay now huh?

37 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:15 pm

Ove3bay.

38 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:17 pm

[34] I'm not too excited one way or the other, mainly because I'm not much invested in this season. But given his performance so far, it does seem silly to keep starting Francisco as the RHDH specialist. It's even silly if you look at his career numbers, given his slight reverse split against LHP. Then again, sometimes I get the feeling (impressionistic to be sure) that no team regularly punts the DH position quite like the Yankees.

39 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:18 pm

Tesh who???

40 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:18 pm

You are forgiven, Lyle.

41 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:18 pm

[36] Just needed some kicking, that's all ...

42 Sliced Bread   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:19 pm

Oh-fer-bay redemption

43 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:19 pm

[38] I, for one, welcome our new non-Teix Overbay.

44 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:22 pm

What if we could combine two guys and create Ben Francisco Cervelli? I'm for it. Sure, it could be a disaster, but what the hell, give it a shot.

45 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:22 pm

Brains needs food!

46 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:22 pm

49 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:23 pm

Yeah, baby! That's half of my Frankenstein Monster, right there!

50 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:24 pm

I like this new juiced up Cervelli

51 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:25 pm

[49] Yeah, the half that can hit!

Hardeeharharharhar...

52 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:25 pm

[50] Sssssssssssssssssssh!

Don't even *think* that out loud ...

53 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:26 pm

How did they get Nuñez on that one?

54 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:27 pm

[52] Meh, I'm not gonna make it any more true that way.

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:35 pm

Damn, Brett. Watch that wrist kid!

Adam Lind is on maternity leave?
Really, Michael?

59 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:44 pm

2-26

60 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:45 pm

At this point I'd rather see Girardi getting at bats instead of Francisco. You look like a nice guy, Ben, but you're not getting it done.

61 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:47 pm

I think Ben is going to come around.

62 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:47 pm

Anyway Girardi already had his chance.

63 monkeypants   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:48 pm

[61][62] Ah, ok...I'm slowly catching on.

64 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:51 pm

[63] Yeah, I think we may have been slow on the uptake there

65 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 7:54 pm

M M M M M My Kuroda!

66 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:00 pm

Attaboy, Frankie-stein!

67 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:01 pm

Midgets on base again! Time for action.

68 OldYanksFan   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:03 pm

Evening folks....
Man.... that 'information' Cervelli got from Biogenesis has sure put some pop in his bat.

Just cause I'm following him all year (to the MVP)
Bryce: .368 .448 .750 1.198 , 7 HR, 15 RBI, 22 games

69 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:06 pm

Well that was quick.

70 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:06 pm

Bad, Nardo, BAD!!!

71 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:14 pm

Joba's strategy of forcing batters to hit the ball really hard directly at someone is working.

72 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:15 pm

[71] His strategy of hanging fat breaking pitches and allowing opponents to get themselves out in their startled eagerness seems to be working as well ...

73 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:16 pm

Next up D-Rob.

Then Mo.

74 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:17 pm

Missing a good one here? Frankie Brains and Cano went ByeByeBalboni off Hurly Burhle?

75 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:21 pm

[74] And VW.
Kuroda started off teh suck, but finished Hiro-ically.

76 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:22 pm

Also, [74] Happy Ella Day!

77 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:23 pm

[83] Who initiated the call be changed. I switched the channel.

86 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:29 pm

I think that hit will be the beginning of a turn around for Ben. It had better be, because he'll play regardless

87 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:29 pm

Wow..Jays getting some bad calls this game. Also saw the Gameday strike zone before the Cano homer, some real bad calls by the ump.

88 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:33 pm

[85] the umps

89 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:37 pm

[88] Aha. Thanks. Good on them.

90 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:39 pm

[88] which was the weirdest part. Girardi didn't contest it. Why over turn it?

91 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:41 pm

Bang
bang
bang.

92 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:42 pm

94 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:48 pm

Cecil. You don't meet a lot of guys named Cecil.

95 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:49 pm

Exactly, Michael. The hashtag is also used for the search engine. So if you want to search something you can use the hashtag.

That's exactly it.

96 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:51 pm

[95] So you can search for hash-hish or hash-browns? Though they do go together.

97 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:53 pm

[96] I have no idea what he meant. He said someone texted it to him.

98 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:53 pm

[95] God, that was awful. Worse than those ESPN guys, the dumb jock & the nebbish that do the morning show.. #Cone&Singleton,Please

99 rbj   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:55 pm

Everyone knows that pitch is coming. And a professional hitter still can't hit it.

100 RIYank   ~  Apr 25, 2013 8:55 pm

Vintage.
It's just not fair.

Wonder what what Frankie Brains says in Spanish to Mariano after the last out?

So many years of excellence. I dread the void when he's gone.

110 Alex Belth   ~  Apr 25, 2013 9:14 pm

Really nice win. That's the sharpest Mo's looked all season, I think. Man, his cutter--even the ones that went for balls--against Rasmus were nasty.

Great win.

And isn't that the second time he's caught Lowrie looking to end a game this year?
