Fixing a Hole

Reid Brignac has a sweet, long left-handed swing. Looks like he’s going to crush the ball when you see that swing. Except I haven’t seen him hit any bombs since he’s been on the Yanks, have you? Over at River Ave Blues, Mike Axisa offers some thoughts on how the Bombers can continue to tweak their roster.

Depressing article. First two options are on the MiLP DL, third option is some who sucks slightly less and the fourth option is a question mark.

Brignac only has 11 career homers in a little over 800 PA, so that's not really his game. 2 of them were at Yankee Stadium while he was with TB, though. Still...blech.

Funny, the swing is misleading.

Off the topic, so curious if Pineda gives them a boost this year.

How about getting Michael Young when the Phillies decide to trade him. Youkalis is guaranteed be on and off the DL, that's obvious, Tex may need to do the Bautista thing and get his wrist operated on. Young can play either position and he's respected. Not much Power left but David Adams was a flash in the pan and even if A-Rod comes back, he may need to be rested a lot, or he may get suspended.Young gets on base and drives in Runs.

Alex - I think there is a solid chance that Pineda makes a positive impact this year. His rehab has been going well. Fingers crossed.

BobbyB - You know what you are getting with Young, that's for sure. Just not sure he's worth trading for when you might get similar (or better) production from a guy like Mustelier. Or some combination of Mustelier/Overbay/someone else. Young's career is clearly in decline even if he's getting on base at a decent clip this season.

What are you talking about, all of you? Are you nuts? Do you watch baseball or follow baseball? Do you see how others play the game? Are you just listening to the mouths the Yankees have hired to promote the team? Alex. Pineda? I wish for first and third with less than two outs.

Brignac. Is that a wine? Adams. A beer? Techiera. A ripoff? [4] Michael Young? Are you kidding? Being a fan becoming more difficult everyday. I have to listen to the apologists, the management and the non-knowing. Laud the ineptitude. Relish the poor play. Have fun watching without the expectation of winning. Something happened and you don't know what it is Mr. Jones. Thank you Bob.

When the news of the day is about Cashman dissing K-Long for not knowing how to speak in front of the camera, things ain't right. Defending the Youk trade for the umteenth time also sends me into a tirade. Watch how the other teams play. Some of them hit the ball, throw the ball and catch the ball. The present Yankees don't do enough of either. The Seadogs would play them even up.

Could anyone be serious about Montero replacing Jorge? If not, then why let Martin get away. How about Betances? Not an infielder in Scranton who plays well enough to come up? How can this be?

[8] Never knew there was a sobriety test for being a fan, though I would say seeing the team through a haze wouldn't make them passable. How about we take DNA swabs from all banterers to verify their bona fides? And remember the lean years. Not sure I saw you in the stands, then.

No, I meant, when you tell the other Banterers that they don't watch or follow baseball, that they are just listening to the mouths the Yankees have hired to promote the team, and that they are non-knowing nuts... it's time to lay off.

[5] Young fits in because you're just renting him for a season. Now it looks like Texiera goes on the DL and more than likely, surgery (which makes sense-this type of injury has less than a 50% chance of healing on it's own). Paying for 2013 only fits in since the Steinbrenner's have made it abundantly clear what they are going to spend next season.

[8] Youk wasn't a trade.
