Il Fait Tres Chaud

It’s Phil Hughes, hot weather, and the some sort of theory that says Hughes just can’t continue to pitch well.

Here’s your no-frills lineup:

Brett Gardner CF
Zoilo Almonte LF
Robinson Cano 2B
Travis Hafner DH
Vernon Wells RF
Travis Ishikawa 1B
Luis Cruz SS
Alberto Gonzalez 3B
Austin Romine C

Never mind the humidity:

Here's a hint: If he went on the Bartolo Colon diet for a few weeks, Ishikawa could weigh more than his OPS.

I bet he's really solid, though.
I have no doubt that he's a baseball player.
And it wouldn't surprise me at all if he knows how the game is played.

[1] 1st year in the AL after five in the NL, 18 PA, 17 AB off the bench. Yanks do like to pick from the NL for some strange reason, but there is at least promise that he can provide something for nothing, so I wouldn't get riled up just yet. If he sticks, they could trade Overbay without much regret and get something of value in return maybe?

Oh joy, rain delay. I've been to 6 Mud Hens games, three started late due to rain. Saturday's was a two hour delay to the start.
