The fabulous Miss Lee was adored by my Dad - his favorite singer. I remember a time in the '50's when he and Mom went to see her at the Copa; there was a playbill with her dressed in a fire engine red dress. She had her back to the camera, but was looking at the camera over her shoulder. The "back" of the dress almost wasn't. The name of her performance, was of course, "Peggy's Back."

Andre Previn: "She was just the best there ever was. Billie Holiday, yes, and of course she influenced her, but after Billie there's never been anyone as good as Peggy was."
