Okay, so we might not have much faith in the Yanks making the playoffs but they have a chance and that makes these games accordingly tense or watchable or something like that.

C.C. goes tonight. He’s the Ace and they need him to come through with a big performance.

Brett Gardner CF
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Robinson Cano 2B
Alfonso Soriano LF
Curtis Granderson DH
Eduardo Nunez SS
Lyle Overbay 1B
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Austin Romine C

Never mind the scoreboard-watching: Let’s Go Yank-ees!

On to B-More. "Game's the same, just got more fierce"

Good tennis on.

The women's final was good, too. How could you not root for Serena?

2) Rafa's killing Djokovic. Don't know if he can come back like Azarenka did vs Serena. That was a fun final.

4 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 5:38 pm

First set Rafa looked in control. Second set is tight.

5 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 5:48 pm

And there's the break!
Could be a long match.

6 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:06 pm

Alrighty.

7 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:08 pm

CC better get that call too.

8 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:10 pm

Boo that, birds!

Way to go Alex.

9 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:19 pm

I don't know why, but I thought this was still part of the home stand. Quite a shock when I turned the game on.

10 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:21 pm

Thanks for the out.

11 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:24 pm

Yeesh, I leave the room for a couple of minutes and the Os tie it up.

12 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:26 pm

I'm getting annoyed.
Just hit him, then, if he won't cooperate. PUT THE DAMN BALL IN PLAY.

Okay.

CC is now warmed up. No more runs.

What the hell is going on? Just tuned in, Buck and Girardi ready to fight?

14 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:38 pm

So what do we think? Was Dickerson stealing signs?

15 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:47 pm

I'm almost positive Eduardo Nunez has more than 41 errors.

16 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:55 pm

CC looking ok. Sick tennis being played.

17 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:55 pm

How about we score a bunch of runs to make it Joba proof.

18 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 9, 2013 6:58 pm

Bunch? Two fistfuls.

19 RIYank   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:02 pm

Got distracted by tennis. I didn't miss any runs, though.

20 monkeypants   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:21 pm

[14] I've never understood why stealing signs is a violation of the unwritten rules or whatever.

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:26 pm

Rats.

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:28 pm

[20] Stealing signs is only a violation when you get caught.

23 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:29 pm

[20] Same here. Do a better job of hiding them.

24 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:31 pm

Or we could be losing at the end and use Joba for some shit innings

25 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:35 pm

I think CC completely forgot he's allowed to get the third out before allowing runners on 2nd to score.

26 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 9, 2013 7:37 pm

That two out run really hurts. Nadal wins, Djokovic faded at the end but for a while there incredible tennis being played.

27 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:06 pm

Figures. Good CC shows up and the bats don't.

28 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:07 pm

Shades of game 7 of 2001 WS.

29 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:08 pm

Replay!

30 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:19 pm

Lyle!

31 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:25 pm

Damn.

32 BobbyB   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:35 pm

Reports are that Buck started the shouting match. Does everyone agree he us a turd?

33 BobbyB   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:37 pm

Maybe Joba can pitch the ninth for the Orioles…

34 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:40 pm

Still have life.

35 rbj   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:43 pm

Shit.

36 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 9, 2013 8:43 pm

Oh.....fudge.....

37 BobbyB   ~  Sep 9, 2013 10:09 pm

Time is quickly running out on this season. Only hope the RedSox go out meekly in the first round.
I was fantasizing what might have happened if the RedSox ended up with Arod in 2004. I presume no World Championships and lots of controversy. Would we still be chanting "1918" ? Soriano would have moved to the outfield and batted fourth behind Cano. Yankees win in 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2012. You know in an alternate universe the RedSox are still suffering the Curse of the Bambino. Unfortunately in this universe were dealing with the Curse of the A-rod.
