I know he can’t hit a lick but I really enjoyed watching Brendan Ryan in the field late last season and hoped that he might return in 2014. According to Joel Sherman the Yanks are close to signing him. I can’t tell you if it is a good move or a dumb move but I can tell you that I will enjoy watching him play short again next year.

I am sure that Girardi has a soft spot for Ryan, since Joe was basicly a defensive catcher with little offensive production. Joe did get the Yanks some timely hits though.
I'm 100% fine with Ryan as well. Great D up the middle will help the team (now if they just move Gardner to CF all will be well)
we've gotta get our collective hands on some of old ryan pix when he was with the cards (useless ballclub) and sporting that horrific porn stache, as well as the (pretty cool) striped stirrups.
