How do the scrappy little Red Sox expect to compete in 2014 with a payroll higher than only 27 other clubs? They must have spent the winter being smarter, more determined to win than the big market teams.
The Phillies really stick out--that's a ton of money for what's likely to be a mediocre season at best.
