A Good One

Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday

Bob Hoskins is dead at 71. Sad news. He was a wonderful actor.

He's so damn good in THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY. That and GET CARTER have to be the two best British gangster films.

Let's not forget WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? - pretty amazing that he'd be the guy to star in a movie like that rather than a "big name."

I well remember seeing Long Good Friday on campus in the early 1980s. Just amazing. I'd completely forgotten Helen Mirren was even in it until it showed up on cable a few months ago, but Hoskins was unforgettable.
