He's so damn good in THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY. That and GET CARTER have to be the two best British gangster films.

Let's not forget WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? - pretty amazing that he'd be the guy to star in a movie like that rather than a "big name."

I well remember seeing Long Good Friday on campus in the early 1980s. Just amazing. I'd completely forgotten Helen Mirren was even in it until it showed up on cable a few months ago, but Hoskins was unforgettable.
