I know it's early so why do I keep hearing the theme from Rocky during games.

3 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:17 pm

Nice first inning for the youngster. His pitches have some real nice movement.

4 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:19 pm

This really feels like a trap series

5 mhoward120   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:23 pm

I know it's not at all related, but the movie Boyhood is a game-changer.

[5] ooh interesting. I am sick so was looking for a film to watch later. I just discovered Mubi and was downloading some films from there (free trial).

10 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:29 pm

[5] still in theatres I see. I'm not going out tonight but it's on the list. I like Linklater typically.

11 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:29 pm

That's a run!

12 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:30 pm

13 mhoward120   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:34 pm

Seamus, forget anything you know about movies. This is the true "life" experience

14 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:36 pm

[13] Thanks. It looks fascinating. Great concept.

17 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:40 pm

That's an error?

18 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:42 pm

That's a strikeout!

19 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:45 pm

Oh good lord.

20 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:46 pm

You could tell he overthrew that right away

21 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:46 pm

22 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 6:49 pm

23 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:08 pm

I've never like Brian Roberts.

24 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:09 pm

Fucking clown show.

25 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:11 pm

It's bad defense night at the ballpark

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:30 pm

W.T.F!?!?!?

27 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:31 pm

Are you fucking kidding me?

28 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:31 pm

Wow!

He did it again.

And the second he picked up the ball, I knew he would.

29 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:32 pm

[24] That's exactly what it is.

30 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:32 pm

Jesus, Kay and his "derisive cheer."

31 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:33 pm

Hey, he made a toss to first!

32 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:33 pm

haha. That was a total kickball move. "Run it in!" Because you should rarely throw the ball in adult kickball.

33 seamus   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:34 pm

4 errors and game tied at 1? I'll take it.

34 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:37 pm

That was a nice dinger.

35 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:37 pm

My first game was Tommy John's return to Yankee Stadium as an Angel (California Angels I believe). He had three wild pitches in the first two inning, IIRC.

Me!

36 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:37 pm

Nicely done, Ellsbury.

37 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:38 pm

THAT was funny. Wouldn't have been if he botched it again. Besides his three errors, Greene is pitching well. Now how about a nostalgic visit from the score truck?

How about that...Hellsbells drives the van to right field! Nice.

38 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:39 pm

rbj, why are you Jacoby?

39 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:39 pm

(Am I the only one who thinks Beltran has a weird swing? At least from the left side, he appears not to break his wrists until after his swing is complete. Like he sort of sweeps the bat through the zone in a weird way. (Hideki kind of used to do that too in his last few years.))

40 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:42 pm

[38] my last name is Jacoby. This is the closest I could ever get to a professional diamond.

41 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:47 pm

[35] The booth just mentioned Tommy John was the last pitcher to have 3 errors in a game. They did not mention it was all the same play. Yikes.

[40] It's also ok to be a partner in one of the largest personal injury legal firms.

43 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:48 pm

[41] I meant last "Yankee pitcher."

44 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 7:57 pm

[35] A friend of mine went to a game where Tommy John made three errors on one play

45 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:02 pm

[41] Ah, Scooter!

46 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:03 pm

47 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:06 pm

48 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:17 pm

C ' mom Greenie!

49 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:18 pm

Shite! C'mon, kid. One more out!

50 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:18 pm

I think Greene is really done.

51 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:19 pm

Kbmmc: too true.

52 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:20 pm

This game is embarrassing.

53 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:20 pm

[48] I thought baseball was trying to get rid of greenies.

Dammit!

54 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:21 pm

Fucking bollocks!

55 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:24 pm

Well this went to shit in a hurry.

59 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:27 pm

Really sucks.

60 Mattpat11   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:27 pm

Oh, Matt Thornton. Your incompetence and total uselessness to a major league baseball team is almost charming.

61 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:28 pm

Sad to say when we're down 2 in the 6th it's time to turn off the tv.

62 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:41 pm

Suck all around.

63 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:44 pm

For a big guy Zelous can move.

64 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:45 pm

Sweet grab by Zelous at least.

65 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:47 pm

Keeps the ball on the infield and doesn't airmail. I'm fine with that.

66 rbj   ~  Jul 21, 2014 8:49 pm

Come on what resembles our offense!

67 thelarmis   ~  Jul 21, 2014 9:08 pm

5 fucking errors?!?!?

And the shit sox keep winning...

Glad I'm at a rehearsal tonight!

68 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 21, 2014 9:42 pm
