Guess McCann's foot is better. That's a relief.

Have fun, I'm off to the Mud Hens. Only downer is that Verlander's rehab start is tomorrow.

Didi's glove finally broken in...

3 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:12 pm

I put the over/under of YES showing scioscia at 73 1/2. Hey, Didi!

4 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:15 pm

Oi! Catch that!

5 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:16 pm

Cripes.

6 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:27 pm

Yay, Alex.

7 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:27 pm

Yay! 12 to go.

8 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:33 pm

Sheesh.
Eo's pitching well but not catching a break.

9 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:36 pm

Still, he has great range.

10 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:37 pm

Stellar as always, Didi. Keep up the good work.

11 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:38 pm

Kay making excuses for Didi again

12 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:39 pm

Hey!
That was a great move. Wow. Not even close.

13 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:39 pm

Oh, beautiful.
Okay, hats off to Eo, for sure.

14 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:44 pm

Good for Garrett. I read today he's had plantar fasciitis (ouch) since ST and now over it.

15 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:46 pm

Another off balance Didi strikeout.

16 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:48 pm

Oh, man.

Ara, we needed you on that! Instead we got your evil twin, Just Foul.

17 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:49 pm

Keep Drew!

18 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:49 pm

But no doubt about that one!

Stephen Drew.
Can't predict baseball.

19 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:49 pm

[15] Still, he does have great range.

20 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:49 pm

Sweet. He cashed in on his 2nd chance!

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:56 pm

[19] kinda like you don't drool too much for a toothless hag?

Starting pitching all of a sudden looks pretty good. I like this EO.
And what kind of alternative universe are we in when Drew gets the leading hits?

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:56 pm

That was a helluva snag by Didi. I mean Drew.

23 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 6:58 pm

[19] You might want to trademark that line.

24 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:01 pm

[23] I kind of have. It's my go-to line -- I think I've used it about fifty times this season on Banter.

[22] Drew: "Must get to that before Didi can get his hands on it..."

25 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:02 pm

Brett is 13 for 16 in steal attempts now. For all our disappointment in his stealing ability, that's damn good.

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:02 pm

Brett. Holy shit. Knew what he was doing.

27 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:07 pm

Yanks batters have to think of Weaver as a batting practice pitcher and adjust.

28 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:07 pm

Hey hey!

Excellent. My god, Teix is having a great year.

29 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:07 pm

Hell yeah! Suck it, scioscia!

30 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:07 pm

Like that

31 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:10 pm

This Weaver has always been the dicky younger brother, California style. We all have met the type.

32 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:11 pm

Munson bobblehead looks like a winner.

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:14 pm

Kay just cited the stat that Tex has more home runs than singles; that is remarkable.

34 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:40 pm

Hell yes.
The constant Gardner!

35 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:40 pm

Just lovely.

36 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:41 pm

Fucking Bollocks! C'mon, Alex!

37 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:41 pm

It would be so cool to have a real #2 hitter. Maybe that Jacoby guy who used to play CF.

38 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:43 pm

Centaurius!

39 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:43 pm

Eleven to go.

40 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:43 pm

That's what I'm talikn' about!

41 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:47 pm

Wow! #2 all-time RBIs only Aaron ahead of him. Congrats to Alex.

42 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:50 pm

Throw strikes, Meat!

43 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:50 pm

[41] Yeah, hm. Baseball Reference says Ruth had 2214. I wonder what the deal is with that.

44 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:51 pm

Uh oh.

45 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:51 pm

MLB doesn't use BR for that stat. It's another source, can't remember their name.

46 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:54 pm

Oy.
Things go wrong so fast.

47 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:56 pm

[45] Yeah, but how can it be controversial? And the discrepancy is so big, too -- it's not a few RBI, it's a few hundred.

48 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:56 pm

Fucking terrible, dude. Seriously. Walking the bases loaded up 5-0 in the 6th. The ump fucking sucking doesn't do Eovaldi any favors, though. shite!

49 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 7:57 pm

[45] MLB.com app also has Ruth with 2213. Also noticed Gehrig 1995 RBIs came in 500 fewer games than A-Rod.

50 thelarmis   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:00 pm

RBI star totals began to be kept as records in 1920. Elias considers that to be standard. But Babe accrued a coupla hundred before that. Some sites believe that to be correct, as they should. So, Alex is really 3rd. 2,000+ RBI is truly amazing.

51 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:00 pm

[49] I remember Kay saying they started tracking RBIs after 1920. It was unofficial stat before that. They may have started because Babe had so many RBIs.

52 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:01 pm

[50] Or maybe fourth: Cap Anson.
So Elias only counts the RBI if it was an officially-kept record at the time?? That sounds kind of dumb. I wonder if there's some good reason for it.

53 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:03 pm

It would be very nice if Mike Trout didn't bat this inning. Or put it this way: it would really suck if he did...

54 RIYank   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:05 pm

Got 'em.
Yeah, I knew it. I wasn't worried.

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:14 pm

You just can't stop Drew.

56 MSM35   ~  Jun 5, 2015 8:18 pm

Trade him now!

57 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:05 pm

Mud Hens win. And now Yankees with a commanding lead.

58 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:08 pm

Alex with another hit

59 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:15 pm

Don't see that play too often

60 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:17 pm

Esmil, you're gone

61 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:17 pm

Rub roh

62 mhoward120   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:18 pm

Cut Rogers the fuck loose NOW

63 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:20 pm

Keep walking Rogers, walk out of the stadium and hail a cab.

64 mhoward120   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:24 pm

Ban Rogers from the Stadium

65 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:26 pm

Come on.

66 mhoward120   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:27 pm

Get Rogers off our ppanet

67 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:29 pm

Fuck!

68 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:30 pm

Miller, not Wilson!

69 thelarmis   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:31 pm

I come home to this shit? Get Esmil off this team immediately.

70 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:32 pm

One down

71 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:35 pm

Two down but hammina hammina hammina.

72 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:35 pm

Nice pick and throw Didi

73 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:36 pm

I've never understood the point of the Esmil Rogers era. I hope it ends tonight

74 thelarmis   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:37 pm

YES!!!

75 rbj   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:37 pm

PHEW!

76 coleman42   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:37 pm

Deep breath. What a horrible inning!

77 thelarmis   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:37 pm

Did Dellin give up an earned run?

78 thelarmis   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:38 pm

So much for helping our run diff...

79 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:39 pm

[77] yes
That want very bad in a hurry. Almost lucky to win.

80 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 5, 2015 9:42 pm

Carpenter was released, if Rogers is shown the door, what righty is left?

81 RIYank   ~  Jun 6, 2015 5:14 am

What the hell?? I went to bed early, and Betances gets tagged for an earned run?
Look, I can't blame all of you for Rogers, that's to be expected, but you really have to focus better when Dellin takes the hill.

Kind of glad I missed that ninth, actually. Yeesh.

82 coleman42   ~  Jun 6, 2015 8:06 am

[81] Amen.
