Brendan Ryan is back...and starting today.

Ramon Flores is the fall guy for the move.

Me no likey...

2 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:14 pm

Huh, yeah, I dunno, maybe they know something -- I'd rather have Flores on the squad than Ryan.

Anyway, good beginning for Eo.

3 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:14 pm

[1] Flores has lots of options left. He'll be back (or traded).

4 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:16 pm

A couple of can't-quite-believe-it stats:

Robinson Cano's OPS is .611 :-(
Betances's ERA+ is 1402. :-o

5 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:21 pm

whew - bryce with warning track power to straight away center.

1 pitch, 1 out.

6 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:22 pm

[4]

cano HR = 2
drew HR = 9

7 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:23 pm

[3] i really hope he's not traded. lohud has some good thoughts on the subject...

ouchie - that replay of what happened to cosart slipping on 1st base didn't look good.

8 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:26 pm

I hope he's not traded too.
Unless he's traded for someone really good! (Think Montero for Pineda.)

9 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:28 pm

it's much easier listening to manfred speak than selig. that was a chore...

10 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:29 pm

time for a 2-run job by C.Y.

11 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:33 pm

[10] Difficult if he won't swing.
He just watched six pitches (one foul), which I believe is the maximum you can look at.

12 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:34 pm

[4] that Betances number is a video game universe reality, wow!

13 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:40 pm

crap. span's been really good this year.

two two-out doubles = 1 run. we're losing and i've gotta get ready for work...

14 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:44 pm

Its completely impossible to get excited about the return of Brendan Ryan

15 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:45 pm

Base hit Brendan!

16 thelarmis   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:51 pm

[14] agreed. i am the opposite of excited.

17 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 12:57 pm

Yahoo, Brendan Ryan is back!!

Nope, you're right. Gave it my best shot. It's impossible.

18 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:07 pm

[17] Maybe I'm just channeling a former colleague of mine with the same name, who is a great guy.

19 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:22 pm

Gio beating Eo...

20 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:31 pm

Must cash in Gio mistakes...

21 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:33 pm

Bah.

22 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:45 pm

A derisive cheer as Tex singles...second Yankee hit.

23 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:49 pm

Do some damage, Carlos

24 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 1:50 pm

Oh yeh

25 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:06 pm

Brendan! My hero!

26 Mattpat11   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:07 pm

UNSTOPPABLE OFFENSIVE FORCE BRENDAN RYAN

27 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:08 pm

[26] Well stated

28 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:09 pm

Welcome back, Brendan Ryan!

29 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:11 pm

That may have been his longest hit at YS

30 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:12 pm

Gardy!

31 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:13 pm

OK, Chase and Alex, got to bring Gardner home, now.

32 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:15 pm

Up to Alex, slumping a little, little...

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:19 pm

Namesake! Clutch.

34 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:19 pm

YES.

35 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:19 pm

Alex hits it right where Brendan did. Move back, Denard!

36 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:24 pm

Lucky too. Now steal this game...

37 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:26 pm

Lookit that old goat Alex run.

38 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:27 pm

Wow, sticking with Nathan.

39 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:27 pm

And now, yank him.

40 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:28 pm

Harper will tie the game right here.

41 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:30 pm

Is Dellin not available?

42 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:32 pm

Happy to log on from Milano. Working on zero sleep but happy that the hotel wifi let's me sorta watch the Mlb.com feed.

43 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:33 pm

So far, so good, kid...

44 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:33 pm

42) Please, when you eat some delicious food over there, think of us!

45 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:34 pm

I spoke too soon. Dammit.

46 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:37 pm

That's a balloon popper.

47 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:37 pm

Time for another comeback.

48 rbj   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:42 pm

I guess it's good that I'm stuck at work and can't watch this game.

49 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:44 pm

Incredible.
Good thing Dellin got to pitch in yesterday's tense, high-leverage situation.

50 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:52 pm

Wilson pitching, Beltran still in outfield, can the Yankees win with one hand behind their backs and an eye closed?

51 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:55 pm

grumble, grumble, grumble

52 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:58 pm

Gardner gets on, we win. Write it down.

53 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 2:58 pm

[51] My sentiments exactly.

54 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:00 pm

Let's go WALK OFF. C'mon, Fellas.

55 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:07 pm

Yeah, this feels like one that will get away.

56 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:08 pm

It does.
But remember how it feels to play extras away. Torture. At least we have the home field.
And, at least Bryce is out.

57 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:15 pm

Okay, Tex!
Here we go.

58 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:15 pm

Uh oh.
Let's hope he shows great range on the basepath.

59 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:16 pm

Aaaaaaahrgh!
Twisted foul. Argh argh argh.

60 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:17 pm

Dear Didi, please don't get caught stealing.

61 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:18 pm

Oh, man, painful. Painful.

I'm not going to think about what the defensive alignment will be if they don't score.

62 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:21 pm

Oh, lord.
Kinda saw that coming.

63 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:22 pm

Ugh. Dude is throwing smoke.

64 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:23 pm

Yeah, we could see that. I guess Miller and Dellin have the day off and they are just going with Cappy and hoping for some good luck.

65 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:24 pm

Was he out?

66 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:27 pm

He appeared safe in slo mo, but it wasn't definitive. The ball beat him, but the first tag seemed missed.

67 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:28 pm

Can you actually win a game like this with Capuano pitching now?

68 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:28 pm

[64] Sure, because Miller pitched to one batter yesterday, and Betances got in some good work in a blow-out.

I wonder if there's some other explanation.

69 rbj   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:29 pm

Boo, Blue. Boo, pesky cloud of dust.

70 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:30 pm

You can just see it coming apart now...

71 mhoward120   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:31 pm

Chris Capuano is Italian for David Carpenter.

72 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:32 pm

And the Nats lower their win expectancy with the successful sacrifice.

73 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:35 pm

Oh fug. Are you kidding me.
Crap.

74 rbj   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:35 pm

Dammit!

75 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:35 pm

Right on time.

76 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:36 pm

So, the sac bunt actually produced a run. Man. Killer of a game.

77 coleman42   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:36 pm

Mayzwell turn it off now

78 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:36 pm

That is a shitty way to give the lead.

79 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:37 pm

Did Drew botch that play?

80 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:38 pm

[79] nah, high slow bouncer over Capuano, Drew had no chance.

81 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:39 pm

80) Cool, thanks.

OK: COMEBACK!

82 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:41 pm

Drew did botch the double play in the eighth, by double clutching, allowing the two run home run for the next batter.

83 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:44 pm

Yuck, bad game.

84 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:44 pm

Nertz.

85 rbj   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:45 pm

Blergh. Come home just in time to watch a loss.

86 RIYank   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:45 pm

[82] Man, two homers to one batter! Drew really sucks!

87 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 10, 2015 3:45 pm

Welp, with Dellin and Miller getting a rest this was a game the Yanks were willing to lose in order to win the war I suppose.

88 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 10, 2015 4:02 pm

[86] yeah, funny

And now AMill goes down for at least 15 days...

89 rbj   ~  Jun 10, 2015 4:43 pm

[88] Aaaauuuuuggggghhhhh!

90 MSM35   ~  Jun 10, 2015 6:35 pm

Miller out. Too bad. The biggest problem is that Beltran is healthy. If this is all we can expect going forward. It is a big concern.

91 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 11, 2015 1:20 am

[90] Hahahahahah! Good one.

92 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 11, 2015 2:29 am

Fell asleep in 9th, woke up to the loss. Kept me up for at least 3 minutes. Alex, had AMAZING pizza (prosciutto, mushroom and artichoke, with a semi-cooked fried egg in the middle). Now gorging my way through breakfast buffet on sausages and cheeses and fab breads. The coffee is not to be believed.

93 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 11, 2015 1:43 pm

92) Drooooooooool.
