Well, that was quick! I voted for Brett like 90 times in last 2 days. Every vote counts and no limit.

I'm real troubled by Tanaka's performance since he's returned.

3 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 12:35 pm

A's seem to have Tanaka figured out.

4 rbj   ~  Jul 9, 2015 12:37 pm

Stuck at work.

5 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:01 pm

10 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:09 pm

11 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:09 pm

[9] i know, right?

12 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:12 pm

I don't like the squandered opportunity there.
We should have broken this thing wide open.

13 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:15 pm

[12] agreed. chavez owned us last time out and tanaka has been pretty unreliable. that 6-run lead he squandered against Houston hasn't sat well with me.

also, i frickin' hate this billy burns kid.

14 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:17 pm

billy butler reaching first on a wild pitch strike 'em out? me no likey.

15 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:31 pm

fair ball. went over the bag.

16 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:32 pm

17 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:33 pm

rbj - so good to have you back, man!

18 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:34 pm

wow. that was even closer to being foul, but just grazed over the bag.

game of inches.

19 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:34 pm

Yaay!!

Hit parade!

20 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:35 pm

That's an error.

21 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:35 pm

22 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:35 pm

27 rbj   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:41 pm

[17] Thanks. Who the hell is Cole Figueroa?

28 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:42 pm

Yay, Brett!

:)

29 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:49 pm

congrats, gritner!

you most certainly deserve it : )

30 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:52 pm

I take back earlier comment about Tanaka. He's settled down nicely in last few innings.

31 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 1:55 pm

[30] He has but don't jinx him.

32 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:02 pm

Nice inning, Tanaka.

33 rbj   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:08 pm

Congrats, Brett.

34 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:10 pm

My son just informed me that my grandson's team, the Lewisboro "Lightning," had won their game the other night vs. the Shrub Oak "Storm," 3-2 in a rain-shortened 5 innings. I left when the rain started, without knowing the opponent's team name.

35 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:14 pm

great work, tanaka!

36 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:14 pm

Excellent, Tanaka. Excellent.

37 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:34 pm

Great, great outing!!

Such a relief!

38 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:36 pm

Seems like Tanaka had a wonderful outing, eh?

39 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:47 pm

Bench Drew...put Figueroa at 2nd.

40 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:56 pm

Chase 'em, Chasen!

41 thelarmis   ~  Jul 9, 2015 2:59 pm

wow, tanaka went out for the 8th, huh?!

so...since gritner is in the A-S game, is he replaced on the Final Five ballot? it's over tomorrow, so i imagine no...

42 coleman42   ~  Jul 9, 2015 3:03 pm

Once again, the Kay jinx...2 for 41, 2 for 41...ok we get it. Then Reddick gets a hit. Sometimes you just have to keep your mouth shut and call the game.

43 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 9, 2015 3:07 pm

Nice win you guys.

44 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 9, 2015 6:40 pm

Was at the game with a business associate (wink wink). Great win, Tanaka was masterful, and soaked up the crowd accolades when he left the game. And the cheer for Gardner after his AS game announcement was truly sincere.

That SS the A's go with is a force of nature in ineptitude.

45 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 9, 2015 7:50 pm

Afternoon game, booooo. :(

[44] I don't understand the analytics on that guy..people saying his D has not really hurt the A's. How can that be?
