Mmmm, home made french fries. My mom makes the best. Deep fried, put in a paper grocery bag with salt, then shake. One time, after grocery shopping, she, my dad and I ate a whole 5 lb. bag of them.

Classic.

My mom is from Belgium—they invented the damn things!—and those Frites stands on the side of the road in Belgium we used to stop by when I visited as a kid remain magic memories.

They truly are the best when made at home. I've been lazy and buying frozen fries, I need to resolve that issue >;)

[3] We called those "home fries" at my house. Is that a Southern thing?
My folks were from Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Mom's home fries were to die for.

The best outside fries I ever had were from a cart in Southern France. I imagine they were made in the Belgian method. Long, thinish and not very crispy. Served with mayo!
