At Least Nobody Got Hurt

Otto Bags

Except some feelings. (Okay, Matt Holliday was placed on the DL but we already knew he was sick.)

Yanks come back late, then Betances blows the game, Yanks lose, everyone is sad, though some are also angry.

Maybe tonight won’t suck.

Never mind the disabled list:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Carter cleared waivers. Kind of feel bad for him that no one else wanted him.

2 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 7:24 pm

Thanks for that run, Chicago

3 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 7:32 pm

Welcome to the Show, Miguel!

4 monkeypants   ~  Jun 28, 2017 7:32 pm

5 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 28, 2017 7:35 pm

6 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 28, 2017 7:35 pm

young enough

7 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:06 pm

[5] Not ready for that, still two players in MLB older than me (Ichiro! & Bartolo)

Tanaka struggling again?

8 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:09 pm

[7] This inning he is.

When Julio Franco retired, that was it for me.

Phew

9 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:10 pm

ok after 2. tanakasan doesn't have that first pitch magic tonight.

10 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:18 pm

Man did he smoke that. Dammit Melkey!

11 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:20 pm

You can't stop Andujar, just hope to contain him. I probably would have sent Headley too. Two outs and all.

12 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:24 pm

Sox radio guys are RIPPING Gary Sanchez..doesn't run hard to first, doesn't get down to block the ball in the dirt..justified?

13 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:25 pm

great D Tanaka

14 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:32 pm

joe is lecturing sanchez on blocking pitches in the dirt, which is good. is anyone lecturing espada on when to wave runners home?

15 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:40 pm

[12] they do realize he's a catcher, none of whom run well? Blocking is a work in progress. Idjits.

16 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:44 pm

[15] Yeah, there's a very obvious strain of 'old skool ballplayer' with these guys..they were cutting on sabremetrics yesterday.

17 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:49 pm

Sanchez is going to get himself benched.

18 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:52 pm

[17] Radio guys were losing it there, said 'it was embarrsing for baseball'! That bad?

19 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:55 pm

[18] not embarrassing for baseball but he should have run harder. he would have been out regardless.

20 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:56 pm

Ruh roh

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:57 pm

Right down the pipe.

22 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 8:57 pm

Sanchez was definitely loafing.

23 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:01 pm

Shit

24 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:03 pm

That's a swing, Blue

25 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:05 pm

I don't know how that wasn't called a swing. Blatant.

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:12 pm

[18] Gary smoked it to the third baseman and as soon as he realized Frazier had it his run turned into a slow stroll. Didn't look good. Especially after having the whole dugout tell him to block some pitches.

27 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:17 pm

I like it! Congrats, kid!

28 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:17 pm

Woo hoo, another rookie first hit - with an RBI!

29 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:21 pm

Ron Ron strikes again. Atta boy, Brett!

30 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:23 pm

Holy shit!

31 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:23 pm

Wait, the Yankees are scoring Tewa out runs? Don't these baby bombers know that's Not the Yankee Way?

And Judge overrules that pitch

32 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:24 pm

Tewa = two. I'm typing too fast.

33 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:25 pm

Judgement!
Wow, these Sox radio guys are STILL ripping Sanchez..enough already.

34 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:30 pm

catcher envy

35 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:33 pm

This game is so slow.

36 rbj   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:36 pm

[35] Yeah, I'm off to bed, got a cover letter formula down, gotta write them up tomorrow

37 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:47 pm

[36] good night and good luck!

38 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:49 pm

Jesus Christ. That's on Brett...

39 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:49 pm

Lame. At least no one got hurt.

40 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:50 pm

they gave wade that error? that's pretty mean

41 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:51 pm

Bullshit scoring. Wade easily would've made that catch. Gardner caused, and made, the error. Poor kid...

42 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 9:52 pm

Jesus Christ, Jr.

That was on the wind...

43 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:08 pm

Jeesh...

44 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:09 pm

it's really absurd to play through weather like that

45 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:09 pm

Well that was lightning outside of a bottle.

46 51cq24   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:15 pm

an umpire can't have a "best call." who the hell asked him that? and why did he have an answer? you can have all degrees of bad calls, but a right call is a right call.

47 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:16 pm

Good walk.

48 seamus   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:16 pm

Good game for Miguel.

49 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:17 pm

I've come to respect Joe West. Possibly an ass, but he gets it done, generally makes the right decisions, calls, etc.

50 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:19 pm

Flaherty has to be been the most boring, vanilla milquetoast going. Makes a slow game almost unwatchable. Makes Leiter a star.

51 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:29 pm

another endless game.

52 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:32 pm

Ugh. I ho

53 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:32 pm

Oops... I hope Chad Green's not hurt. He says he's fine, but his velo is down...

54 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:33 pm

Boat - I completely agree about Flaherty in the booth.

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:40 pm

I'll take Flaherty over most national broadcasters. I heard Joe Morgan's voice during a Jeter replay the other night and started cursing.

56 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:42 pm

Love me some Didi.

57 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:43 pm

Didi Double Digits!!

58 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:43 pm

I guess no Chapman again tonight. Is he OK?

59 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:44 pm

[55] Joe Morgan has a circle of hell all to himself.

60 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:45 pm

8 hits, 9 walks, 10 runs.

Me likey.

61 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:47 pm

If Clippard pitches, it'll become a save situation. Or a loss...

62 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:47 pm

Can we say, "Tanaka's back." [knocks wood]

63 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:52 pm

Mash away, brother! Hot damn!

64 thelarmis   ~  Jun 28, 2017 10:52 pm

GO, Kid!!!

65 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 28, 2017 11:08 pm

Fun win. Cheers, y'all.

66 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 11:13 pm

All my data streams, MLB Premium and Banter froze and refused to reboot at the same time. Who pitched the 9th?

Anyway, great win. Good-night, brothers.

67 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 28, 2017 11:30 pm

Oh, it was some dude named Tyler. ;>)

68 seamus   ~  Jun 29, 2017 5:36 pm

i'm completely mystified. Yankees placed Austin on DL and called up Fowler. Ok, sure. But then they called up Chris Carter and optioned Andujar back to AAA. huh? I hear their rationalizations and quite frankly, i'd rather watch mud play than Carter.

69 rbj   ~  Jun 29, 2017 6:21 pm

[68] Wow, tough league where 3-4 with 4 rbis earns you a demotion
