That was an interesting game to attend. We got to our seats at the end of the first inning. The Yankees only had base runners in the 2nd inning and 9th inning. Their pitchers looked really good. Fortunately Nestor was on fire and had a few nice plays by Donaldson. He looked a bit shaky in the eighth, but got through it. We left with 2 outs in the 9th but stopped to watch Gallo's ab. Glad we got to see that before we took off.

Gardner, much as he contributed and spanned Yankee eras, was DONE. He overstayed by a year but thankfully given the Yanks lack of real challenge for a WS, it was not super apparent/important that BG was not a contributor anymore.

I am with knuckles, Gardner was a good Yankee for a long time, but having him on the roster makes Boone do stupid things like batting him 1st or 2nd. He was fine when he was batting 9th and playing 1/3rd of games, but he was often batting much earlier and playing a lot more.
