To answer RI's leadoff question from yesterday, I'm in Asheville, NC.

Oh, nice place to be!
I'm on my way to Australia. (But at the moment just on my way to Boston.) I probably won't get to catch a lot of baseball while I'm there -- when I have nothing else to do in the morning I'll tune in! (I'll be one hour later than Mr OK and Boatzilla.)

Well that was lame. Asheville is awesome Thelarmis. Enjoy!

But, my travel will be a whole lot more unpleasant.
Also, it's winter there.

Close, but no cigar.

Spent the afternoon at the Book Trader bookstore 7-9 North 2nd St, Philly. Got five books: Chop Wood, Carry Water (meditation), The Book of War (not Sun Tzu), Living with a Chihuahua, Chosen of Mida and The Warrior Within. The last two are, erm, earthy pulp fiction.

Then spent a couple of hours at Beirstube Beer Garden, exploring new beers.

Now off to schmooze, eat and drink.

[14] Sounds like an ideal way to past time. I love happening upon bookstores and "discovering" great novels.

Amazon, et. al., just ruins the experience for me. So purposeful.

[2] Love Oz. Great people. Great food. Great nature. Great beaches. Weird muthafucking animals. And I mean everywhere, even in suburbia. Giant bats, opossums, turkey buzzards. Huge frightening lizards just strolling around without a care in the world.

[16] You ain't joking..my co-worker from Oz showed me a pic his Dad had taken of their backyard one morning. This huge ass snake just curled up on their deck, uncoiled he said it was about 6-7 feet long.

Neighborhood festival and fireworks tonight..which means it may be time to crack a beer?

Oh, P.S. If we have to lose, I'm glad at least Cano hit two taters. Still love the guy even if he split.
